Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Are rollaways still available at CBR? DH and I are used to a king size bed and sharing a full size is impossible. So we plan to each take a full size for ourselves and maybe rent a rollaway for DD who will be 6 at the time of the trip... That is IF they still have rollaways available. If not, she will share with me but she is a bed hog!!!

I sent an e-mail to guest services asking about trundles or family suites. It has been a few days and still no answer. I am thinking it is something they are thinking about but has not yet been decided or maybe they are just not releasing the info yet. Maybe they are bidding on the beds and waiting for the right price. Who knows, but I am hoping that no news is good news.

popcorn:: Need some help to make room request here:

I've been studying the map of the property and see that there is a playground at both Barbados and Jamaica beaches.

I'm leaning towards requesting the Jamaica area...my question...the morning we leave DW we will have to be at Custom House by 6:30 am. I understand that if you request the internal bus to come pick you and your bags up (we are flying Southwest) that they come get you an hour prior to that (5:30!!)! With a 4 year old...I was hoping we could save some time to and get our bags to custom house ourselves. How long would it take to get from Jamaica to Custom House on foot?

Another question not related to room request: is it the Martinique beach you can see Epcot fireworks at night? How well can you see them if it's a clear night? (I know it won't compare to being there...but that DD might enjoy!)

Thank you for your help~

Hey guys,

We're leaving at or near 1:00 p.m. today for our third stay at the CBR. Our drive is anywhere between 14 and 16 hours depending on traffic and weather.

We've requested a new Nemo room and are hoping our request is granted. IF we get the reburbed room, you can rest assured I'll be taking lots of photos to post when I get back.

I'll be sure to ask the castmembers about the pirate rooms and the main pool and see if I can get any answers. Of course, I'll take pictures of the pool construction if I can and will definitely try to get some new pictures of the resort to post.

By the way, this is a surprise trip for our 11 year old son. He has absolutely no idea we are headed to Walt Disney World. We canceled our May/June trip and he thinks we aren't going back until next year!

Okay...here is my question to guest services:

I know that the Caribean Beach Resort is currently undergoing
renovations and I am praying that part of that will include the addition
of trundle beds in some of the rooms. We are a family of 5 and our only
real options are Port Orleans Riverside and the Fort Wilderness Cabins.
The rooms at Port Orleans are small, we stayed there a couple of years
ago when my youngest was a baby. I understand the rooms at Caribean
Beach are larger. The pool at Fort Wilderness holds us back because my
girls love the pool slides offered at the moderate resorts. Praying
that I will get good news about this. Thank you for your time.

Answer from guest services:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

XXX, at this time there has been no mention that Disney's Caribbean
Beach Resort will be adding trundle beds to any of their rooms.

We are sorry our response is not a more favorable one but appreciate
your understanding.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all correspondence.

Thank you!

So I guess that is the end of the hope for a trundle.:sad2: I would pay for a roll away but I am sure they won't allow it. I guess I will wait and see what kind of discounts come out. Maybe 2 rooms at CBR if the rate is right.

This is what we did in May when we left. The guy came and took all our bags (carry ons too) and my dh and ds went with him in the van to the custom house and did all the check out stuff. Dd and I satyed in the room until check out and met up with dh and ds and went to Epcot.

I hope you have a great time. They seem to be putting in many more hours working on the pool. You should be able to get a Nemo room since there are more buildings that have them now.

We are leaving tomorrow morning (7am) for our 24 hour drive to Disney World staying at Caribbean Beach as well....We reserved the 2 rooms because with a family of 6 there are not a lot of options (sometimes we have family go the same time as us ~2004,2005,2006~and we put 2 of our kids in their room and the other 2 with us) ....this time it is just us 6 so, 2 rooms, but at 99.00 a night it wasn't too bad (cringe) We are staying for 12 days so I assume with my luck the new refurbished pool should open any minute after we leave on Thursday the 21st !!:rotfl2:

Wish us luck with the drive with a 12 year old, 10 year old, 8 year old and 7 year old (they will need it) I am going to count how many times I hear I have to go to the bathroom, what state are we in, are we there yet, and so and so did so and so to me

So excited, can't wait, and if I can get some pics I will post !!

Have a great and safe trip!!!

i know i read it in one of these threads before, but can't find it now (of course).. as far as the bus location stops, some of the buses start in jamaica and some start in martinique (i think!!).. can anyone tell me which start where for which parks??? Thanks!!!!!

CleveRocks posted the information sometime back, but I wrote it on my map so I'll be ready next week:

Jamaica is the 1st stop for Epcot, HS, and AK.
Martinique is the 1st stop for MK and DTD.

Hope this helps!

Hi All!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on here who takes the time to answer questions and give out info.

We are headed to CBR on Tuesday and thanks to this thread I really can't wait to get there!

I find myself not really minding which room I get and where it is as all of them sound fantastic!

I'm just soooo looking forward to getting in that caribbean mood! If the pool opened before we fly home on the 28th then that will be an added bonus!

Thanks once again - looking forward to seeing some of you for cocktails at Banana Cabana!:yay:
