Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

Just found out we'll need to rent a mobility scooter for my wife due to medical problem. ( She needs to have her knee "refurbed", but has passed on any Nemo themed tatoos! )

So far, though I've passed through the first 75 pages of this FAQ III, I have not seen anything about needing a 1st floor room to accommodate getting scooters inside to recharge them at night. Can anybody help me with this ?

We arrive Sunday w/ a king upgrade room and I'd like to finalize requests in the next day or two.

GREAT board..........and it's really helped out with our planning so far. The excitement is contagious !!

Hi,
If you booked your own trip than call and explain this to them and they should be able to add it to your reservation. If a travel agent booked it for you, they will have to call to change your reservation. Also i would call the resort myself no sooner then 3 or 4 days before arrival.

You should have no problem with this at Cbr, the staff is well trained and understanding. Good luck and have a great trip. We had the same problem with my mom in 2005. She ruptured a ligiment in her knee 2 days before arrival, i explained to her to call but she kept putting it off until we got there. She then remembered that she forgot to call. The front desk orginally had her and me with connecting rooms on the second floor at aruba. It took about 3 minutes and we were changed to connecting rooms on the first floor at aruba.

JUST ARRIVED BACK YESTERDAY AFTER STAYING AT THE CBR, WE WERE LOCATED IN MATINIQUE BUILDING 21, I HAVE TO SAY THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND THE RESORT WAS LOVELY AND TRANQUIL AFTER A HARD DAY AT THE PARKS, THIS WAS OUR FIRST TRIP TO WDW AND IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT. MY DD AND DS WERE IN AWE OF THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE, MY DS 14 LOVED THE CBR AND HAS ASKED IF WE CAN STAY THERE WHEN WE GO BACK IN 2 YEARS. THEY SAW SQUIRRELS, LIZARDS, RABBITS, DUCKS ETC, MY SON HAD TO TAKE THE VIDEO CAMERA OUT TO RECORD THIS LOVELY RESORT. THIS RESORT GETS A BIG THUMBS UP FROM THE WATKINS FAMILY.

I just called the hotel to confirm a couple of items, and I asked if the pool was opened. The lady I was talking to said that it wasn't.. She called her "source" and said that they are looking at the middle of the month, due to all the rain that they have been getting. I'm keeping my fingers crossed as we are arriving on friday. Although I thought the completion date was always set for the middle of the month, it would have been nice if they could have completed it a little early. Hopefully it opens while we are there... My oldest son would be devastated if he can't swim in the new priate pool..

The resort will not let you know if it is opening early. They will still officially say the middle of September. Even if its opening, today, tomorrow or a few hours.

Chances are you weren't talking to someone at the resort. Resort phone calls go to a call center.

I absolutely love my Passporter to Walt Disney World. You can order these online at www.passporter.com or at your local bookstore. Even though I have been to Disney 49 times I have found that I use my Passporter quite a lot, because in the back it has sections where you can write everything down on a day by day basis to help make an itinerary.

Where can I find the room request form to fax to CBR?
We are going to be there bright and early September 25th for our pre-cruise stay. If you get there WAY before check-in time, what do we do? We are taking Disney Buses to the resort, so we won't have to lug our bags around, but will we be allowed to use the pools until our room is ready?

I am at CBR, as previously stated. Disney is still very hush hush about the pool opening.
After watching all the "Brass" walk around the pool for 2 hours, and hearing that they had passed all of the County Inspections earlier in the day, the word is...............................the official pool opening will be at 10:00 Tuesday Morning (tomorrow). Last night they had a midnight crew come out and touch up this and that. This morning the shipwreck in the kiddie pool was running. As of 6 pm today, the chairs are on the deck, and except for one small piece of construction equipment, the deck is clear. Supposedly, we will get voice mails to our rooms when it is official. Painful, ain't it?

Just back tonight from a 5 night stay at Caribbean Beach. To any that might have reservations based on some disgruntled posts....we had an absolutely beautiful time! It was beyond our expectations. Very clean. Very lush grounds. Great scenery and hidden nooks...food was awesome. Very, very pleased with our experience from check-in, phone in room information, to bell services at check-out. Very magical experience!
