Caribbean Beach Resort - Don't!

Just got back from my family's first Magical Gathering. We stayed at the CBR and I would not recommend it to anyone. We had numerous problems that the Guest Services Manager tried to rectify but unfortunately he could not. We have stayed at the value resorts several times and they are head and shoulders above this particular moderate. I do believe the size of CBR is the real problem - too many guests and not enough dedicated employees willing to make sure you have a "magical vacation". Just our family's opinion.

Sorry to hear that you didn't have a good experience. Sometimes things happen on our vacations. I hope you write to Disney about your experiences. I find it hard to believe that the management didn't make it right for you.

Aw, I'm so sorry you had a bad exp!! Be sure and follow up with Grand Gatherings and guest services to let them know the full story so things can change.

We had the opposite exp - we had a great time at the CBR, but HATED Pop and had a bad exp. Seems that everyone has a diff exp, which is a shame, too. Should be more consistent!

I hope the rest of your trip was "Grand" =)

When we stayed at CBR after three nights at POP, we wanted to go back to POP sooooooo bad...when we got there there was red stains on the carpet, the bedspread smelled like it hadn't been washed in a year, and when we turned the heat on at night it smelled like wet dog!!!! I would not recommend CBR to anyone!!!!!! We were extremely upset, but since we were only staying for one night, we decided to ignore the problems(we got there at about 6:00pm and we had to be at the airport at 7:30am) Anyway, we would recommend the POP pver CBR any day!!!

Sorry to hear that people had bad experiences. Ours have been just the opposite - very accommodating CM's, and bright, clean rooms. I'm sure that all resorts have things like this happen, unfortunately, but I would like to think that they are exceptions. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at CBR again and would enthusiastically recommend it to others.

We had stayed at CBR right after the renovations in 2003 and it was great. CM's were wonderful and mousekeeping was the best we've had at any disney resort.

I LOVED the CBR! I stayed there over Spring Break last year and plan to go back and stay there this Summer! I love the island themed buildings and beaches..the ducks are SO cute!

We stayed there in September and had a wonderful time. I loved the theme. So relaxing!

And all the staff was wonderful, from check-in to check-out.

Sorry you didn't have a good time, but if you are going to advise people not to go there, best to state specific reasons why.

This surprises me because I had heard good things about CBR. At the same time, it makes me glad that I stuck with the values for my upcoming trip. I agree with Carol. Could you possibly give us some ideas of what happened there on your trip?

We stayed at CBR last week while the resort was at full capacity. The service, buses and room were wonderful. The resort was a true island paradise. The bad rap CBR gets just means more rooms for us

I was there last July and loved it....but we were in one of the preferred rooms. I've heard quite a few complaints from people who didn't stay in a preferred room....

We stayed at CBR two years ago and wasn't crazy about it either. However, we had a VERY bad experience (one of my children almost got seriously injured by a crowd of people at the bus stop) and although it was not CBR responsibility (it was DTD) the manager went out of his way to make it right and so did disney transportation.

We would not stay there again though for other reasons.

Stayed there last month - good transportation, good food, excellent service from housekeeping. Room was very nice, very clean, with a very nice view and very convenient to everything. We didn't use the pool due to the weather, but would definitely stay there again.
