Caribbean Beach...Please give me feedback

My fiance and I are honeymooning in Disney This August (9-17). Originally we were going to stay at the All Star Movie. We figured we would rather stay in a value resort and be able to do the Deluxe Dining package instead of spending all our money (or my parents money, thanks mommy and daddy) on a nice resort that we aren't going to be spending much time in anyway.

When I called for to make the reservation they offered me a flex plan. Basically from what I understand they have extra space at the Carribean Beach Resort that week and they upgraded us for the same price as staying in the value resort.

I have stayed at the CBR before when I was much younger and from what I remember I absolutely loved it! I was told that the main pool is being renovated and for the price I am getting our stay at the moderate resort for I really didn't mind. The thing is that now I was reading some reviews on the CBR and I have read that a lot of people have made complaints about the resort being dirty, staff being rude, etc.

My fiance has never been to Disney before and I just know that he is going to absolutely love it, but I want his resort experience to be as wonderful and magical as I know Disney always is. If there is anyone who has been to the CBR recently I would really appreciate it if you could give some feedback on the resort. If it has gone downhill I would rather stay in a value resort and have a nice experience. Thanks

ASMo is going to be loaded with kids during your time of travel and CBR (because of the pool refurb) should be much less busy. It's your honeymoon - I would definitely choose CBR over ASMo and for the same price no less - no brainer to me

I would suggest reading the CBR FAQ thread. The link is in my signature below. You will find many fans of CBR. It is a beautiful resort and a great place for a honeymoon.

its your honeymoon,avoid the cheaper resorts, avoid the herd of kids, noise and crowded buses

cbr will be a much better choice than the values

We love the CBR. The resort is beautiful and we found the staff to be wonderful. Our DD unfortunately had to go to the hospital last year while we there, I went with her in the ambulance. The staff at CBR drove DH and other DD to the hospital and then told us to call when we were done and they'd pick us up; which they did. They went beyond the call of duty. We will be back at CBR this year again Dec. and we can't wait.

I've stayed at CBR three times, the last this past August. I've never had a problem there. I've read the bad reviews and just don't get it.

The CMs couldn't be nicer. The rooms were clean. The food was good. Mousekeeping was awesome - extra towels and towel animals every day. Buses run great - no long waits. Quiet pools are just that.

Maybe you'll get lucky and the main pool will be finished early!

We did not have a good experience at CBR and probably wouldn't go back. But everyone has different experiences...

However, I think you would be happier at CBR for your honeymoon (especially since you don't mind the main pool being closed). I just think that CBR has more of a "honeymoon" atmosphere to it than ASMovies.

We stayed there last august, and really enjoyed the resort. Very beautiful. The rooms were clean as was the whole resort. And the buses ran wonderfully. We were there during free dining and from what i heard the hotel was full, but you couldnt tell from how quiet we found it. It was really nice and I hope to go back one day. You should enjoy it. We stayed there two years ago and it was okay. I doubt we would stay there again unless we wanted a cheaper trip and decided to do a mod. this year we are staying at WL and I want to stay at AKL next time, then Poly, then maybe BC, so that's why I say I doubt we will stay there again. That being said, I do agree that you won't want to be at one of the more "juvenile themed resorts" for a honeymoon. CBR is very quiet. Its also very spread out. We did not have any complaints, just wasn't really our "thing," I didn't like the separate buildings and the outside entrances. Some people like that; we didn't. It seemed a little desolate to us (we were there at Christmas), and nothing much was ever going on. But again, that might be appealing to two honeymooners who will have plenty of other things "going on." LOL...sorry, I just had to say that I would not hesitate to take the upgrade. You'd be crazy to turn that down compared to the value. Good luck deciding, and congratuations. Hope your wedding day is beautiful.

CBR is wonderful..........our king room was clean and very comfortable.
DH and I are spoiled with our memory foam mattress and the bed there
was soooooo comfortable, we didn't even use the mattress topper we
had taken with us. It was quite and relaxing and a beautiful resort.
Great resort for a honeymoon for sure!

You will find good and bad reviews of every Disney resort. I wouldn't let a few bad reviews of CBR worry me. I agree witheveryone else: for a honeymoon, CBR over All Stars any day!!! Congratulations

We stayed in January and two families we know stayed last week. We had similar experiences -- we all liked it. It was clean, well maintained and a beautiful resort It was the first mod we've stayed at -- we have stayed at all the duluxes and values though. I would give CBR a high rating. Have a great stay!

I agree, the All-Stars are not the place for a honeymoon. Have a GREAT time, and CONGRATULATION!!!!
