Hi, looking for a sneaky week for next April and was surprised on the Disney site that Caribbean beach is only £40 more for the 2 of us than it is for POR! The food court look fab like a cosy street, is it much better than POR? ;)

TIA, Debs xx

I liked Caribbean beach when we went but it is a lot more so I go to port Orleans but with it being £40 I would go for it as It might not happen again

Caribbean beach and POR are both moderate hotels - the same level...

personally i prefer the theming of POR....

Caribbean beach for me. I've stayed at values, mods and deluxe resorts and the theming at the Caribbean beach is our favourite by far. The pools are lovely and the main pool is only a couple of years old. It's a very large resort and we usually pay more for preferred location and this guarantees your nearer to the main pool and food court. It's a very bright and beautiful resort that definetely has the caribbean feeling. Hope this helps

I love the look of POR Riverside but have never stayed there. I found caribbean beach lovely but a little too spread out for me. I prefer POR larger mansion blocks. I think i am going to have a week there next year to try it out :)

Lol, totally typical, was so tempted to book tonight and one of our cars has had to go into the garage for a new water pump, the dealer was the nearest one I went as I was worried, he opened the bonnet and the water pump pipe had come off and I was advised not to drive it so had to leave it there, it's gonna cost £331 providing there's 'no other damage' totally gutted, just wondering if this is a 'sign'! :rolleyes2

arrived back from POR today!!! I would go for POR anyday over CB. CB is far to spread out and although POR is also a big resort the walk to the main building is only ever a few mins away. The riverboat to DTD is a fab perk and the food court is good. Also you have POFQ a few mins or boat ride away. I still think that POR is so very very pretty...:)

I was just leaning towards Port Orleans as we would prefer the boat to dd, was just debating between FQ & riverside, I read FQ only has 1 bus stop but the big face icons look a bit scary in the restaurant lol, can you get breakfast at riverside as I heard it had stopped? It's £80 more to stay at riverside than FQ so any advice welcome please :goodvibes

You can't go wrong with either of the PO resorts. I think the main swimming pool is better at Riverside as well. It also has lots of quiet pools. Yes you can get breakfast at riverside with lots of choice as well. We tended to go for the make your own omlette in the mornings which also comes with breakfast potatoes. They also do the big Mickey Waffles:goodvibes.
Yes FQ does only have one bus stop but thats all it needs really as it is a lovely small resort. Riverside has 4 stops you can use which is useful when you are going to the MK as it does the other stops before it picks up at the main stop where there are loads of people waiting.
Both resorts where showing Disney movies outside and we stopped to watch Toystory one night..lovely thing to do.
You can walk between the two resorts in a few mins and use each others facilities...so the best of both worlds really.:)

edited: I suddenly thought you may be referring to the sit down breakfast (table service one) that they used to do. They stopped doing that years ago now and only do lunch and dinner at the restaurant in Riverside. Mind you they do let you take your breakfast into the restaurant area from the food court and its so much more quiet as not many people know this.

Ah, I knew there was some mention of breakfast but wasn't sure what, counter service is what we wanted anyway, I think my minds made up now, thank you sooooo much! :thumbsup2
