I posted earlier this week about staying at the Royal Plaza, but my mom talked me out of it...we've always stayed on-site as a family and she reminded me how much I've always loved being in the "magic" the whole time...so, now I'm back to trying to decide which mod to stay at. I've stayed at the CB twice w/my fam and loved it, but I've read more here about honeymooners staying at PO. We thought about going on a cruise or something bc we love the beach so that is my reasoning for CB, and there is just so much to do there in addition to the parks...but I've always been interested in POR. I've read some TR's here from those who have stayed at POR, but none so far for CB. Any suggestions on which might be better for a honeymoon? FI has never been to Disney before so I'd like him to really experience it all. (I wish we could afford one of the deluxe hotels, but oh well, have to pay for all this ourselves!) Also, any room recommendations? I'd love a king bed room, on a corner, is that a usual combination?
Thanks!

Annie and I have stayed at both. I have to go with Port Orleans Riverside. It's much more romantic and themed in my opinion. CBR is nice though.

Another plus of Riverside is that you can take a romantic boat ride to Downtown Disney! It's quite nice!

Definitely Port Orleans! It has a peaceful feel to it that Carribbean Beach does not. Now if you want something more lively and beachy go for CB! By the way, love the wedding date, that is ours too!:goodvibes

We are initially staying at the Garden Suite at Boardwalk for our comp night and the following night. Then we're off to the Ritz Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, FL for 3 nights(its cheaper than Disney) and then back to Disney to stay at Caribbean Beach with my 3 year old son. We can't afford to stay at Poly, or to go to Jamaica, so I figured this was as close as we could get.

When DH and I made our first trip to Disney together in April 2005, we stayed at POR. The very first night we were there... at 4 a.m.... CAW! CAW! CAW! Some RIDICULOUSLY loud birds apparently lived right outside our window and wanted to let us know it was time to get up. Keep in mind we live in New York City so we can take a little noise. A call to the front desk later, we found out apparently this is perfectly normal, because POR is built on a swamp! Needless to say we switched to CBR the next night and didn't have any problems. I do feel the setting at POR was nicer and more romantic, but I wouldn't wish those birds on anyone! Besides, you can watch Epcot fireworks from a private beach at CBR - not too shabby!

My family usually always stays at Port Orleans (we have stayed there nine times so far) and we have never had any problems with birds. Of course, it could depend on the time of year that you travel. I've been there in December around when you're going and no problems thankfully.

POR is great because you can enjoy the pools without a huge crowd of people plus the grounds are great for a romantic stroll.
