Welcome to the DIS. We love CBR but I suggest you do a search here on the DIS. You will find this subject has been discussed many many times. You can't go wrong with either of them.

Is this for this year? There has been a lot of talks on here that there is hardly any rooms available///you may want to find out which is available, if both are available well then you will have a decsion to make lol...My family is going to stay CBR ext year, my husband stayed there as a child and really liked it

Let me help you. CSR!! Check out my website below for pics, links and info.

My family and I stayed at CBR in May and LOVED it. My kids were 9 and 7 years old at the time and they loved the main pool and the arcade, they also liked the beach and the playgrounds. We did spend so much time at the parks but the times we were at the resort were great.

Happy planing,

Loralie

We vote for CSR!! We love the main pool, the grounds and the Pepper Market. It is a great resort. Have fun planning your trip!! :cheer2:

I will add my vote for CBR. It is very colorful and fun. It puts you in an "island-state-of-mind". The food court is great; lots of variety and kid-friendly. Don't think that Coronado isn't nice but the feeling is different. First, it's a convention hotel so it is a bit taylored to that. We didn't like the food court as much. You can't pick where you want to sit as areas were "closed off". They add a percentage to the bill for what I don't remember and it is enclosed with high iron gating which to us made it feel , I don't know...herded, for lack of a better term. I love the CBR and actually miss not staying there since we became DVC members ( there is a down side to everything!). The CBR rooms are a bit bigger, too. The grounds are beautiful. Cool walking across the island to get to pool and food...has playground on one side and lush quiet walkway around other. I could go on and on but you have ressies to make. You could always stay at one and check out the other while there...you know you'll be going back! Either way, have a wonderful time!!!

Another CBR fan here! :sunny: I have pictures and my comments from our 2 stays at CBR on my web site. The link to my "family vacations" web site is below in my signature. Just scroll down the main page until you get to "Disney World 2001" and click on the CBR pages. Also, at the bottom of that section is a CBR icon, click on that for my 2002 pictures :)

Some facts about CBR:

Largest rooms of all the moderates (they are the same size rooms that Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge have).

Beautiful promenade (walking path) around the lake. Gorgeous at night all lit up, or during the day!

Soft white sandy beaches with playgrounds, chaise lounges, and hammocks, plus a volleyball court on the Trinidad North beach.

Parrot Cay is the island in the center of the lake. There's a playground there too and lots of small paths to explore.

The preferred locations at CBR are Martinique and Trinidad North. Everything is convenient and close to these buildings; bus stops, quiet pool, Old Port Royale which includes the main pool, pool bar, Shutters restaurant, the food court, gift shop, and arcade.

From some locations within CBR you can see the higher fireworks from Epcot's IllumiNations, at night. I have seen them from the beaches of Trinidad North and Martinique, and also from the pool bar area, where the tables and chairs are set up. :)

Either one you choose, you'll have a great time. I always suggest that people start with the theme they like best, then go from there, to see which resort suits their family the best :flower:

CSR is by far a better resort - better food, better pool, newer, etc.
My only concern is that it is much bigger and and being pregnant it
may be walking around than you'd like.

Thank you all for your help...we book caribbean beach this morning...so excited...now off to schedule meal reservations and work on some type of iteniary!
