So sorry......I have changed my mind again and need some help.
Looking to stay at either Carribean Beach (2 rooms) or AOA suite in late August.
We are a family of 6. Kids ages are:
Girl-3
Girl-13
Boy-17
Boy-18
Ages make this a very hard decision. We stayed last year at the Yacht club and loved it but this year, we will require 2 rooms there and can't really afford that.
We have stayed at Riverside and it was beautiful but we want to try a different resort. So that's not an option

My choice would be CBR. We've never stayed at AoA, but we loved everything about CBR. Like the pp, I think having 2 separate rooms with the age range of the kids is a good idea. Plus, I think the younger ones would love the pirate themed pool.

CBR, although not quite as nice as POR (no boat to DS, or Yehaa Bob). It is more appropriate for your teens than AoA.

We stayed in an AoA suite last year and do not recommend it. It really is a "value" resort at "deluxe" prices. It's not bad, but it is a poor value.

Despite my love of AoA suites - with your age ranges and two sexes - two rooms someplace - value/mod/deluxe - doesn't matter. Let the older boys have one if you trust them - and the rest of you take the other. Make a request to get connecting rooms to solve that issue.

You can fit in an AoA suite - but that gives you three beds for 6 - instead of four beds for 6.

What makes POR nicer than CBR?
Would love to try someplace "new" but only if it's a nice resort.
We really enjoyed POR but the buses were terrible both times we went and we were there during the slower seasons...

I thought that I was the only one who felt this way. When I posted something similar to what you just said, I had fans of AoA ready to flog me.

Only for the reasons I stated (POR has boat to DS plus Yehaa Bob, CBR has nothing comparable), otherwise they are not that different.

The bus system is pretty much the same across all resorts. Good days and not so good, not resort specific.

Yes, I just don't see the appeal. Maybe if you have very young kids they might like it. Crazy expensive, garish decorations, and the buildings remind me of Soviet apartment blocks with Disney characters painted on them. No hot tubs, no sit down restaurant, very modest landscaping, and small "suite" at a very high cost. Good for Disney that it attracts fans, but not us.

.

I think they are very different. POR has 4 bus stops, CBR 7. POR is set up so everything is around the same area, at CBR you check in in a separate area and need to bus to your room area. POR isn't as large, and I think it is very noticeable. I also like the food court and gift shops at POR lots more than those at CBR. And the boat to Disney Springs is a nice perk over riding the bus.
