Hi everyone,

I am thinking about switching our ressies in November from PO-FQ to CBR. I think my DH would enjoy this resort more than PO-FQ. He has never stayed at either but I have done both so I think I am going to switch the ressies as a surprise for him. But first I have a few questions. Hope you guys can help me.

1. Do all of the king bed rooms have the wheelchair accessible bathroom with the roll in shower? The reason I ask is because I really really prefer a bathtub. It's a shaving issue for me. I get bad razor burn and have to soak my legs in the tub.

2. We would prefer a ground floor room, however I have heard that there are king bed rooms on the second floor. I would assume that there are no elevators so the rooms must not be wheelchair assessible. Anyone ever have a non-acccessible room on the first floor?

3. Are all of the king rooms corner rooms at this resort? I have heard varied reports on this.

4. Also read on another post that the king rooms at CBR also have the preferred view. Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor?

5. Last but not least...anyone know which buildings are designated non-smoking?

Thanks guys for all of your help.

Last Oct. my DH and I stayed at CBR for 9 nights for our honeymoon. Beautiful, but we prefer POFQ due to the long, tired walk to OPR after a long day at the parks...anyway. We were in Jamaica 46, 2nd floor, king room. It was a corner room, but our view was actually mostly parking lot from the big window, a little plant life. We weren't really there for the view, and the whole resort really is lovely. There are no elevators, and believe me, we looked all over Jamaica for one (we had a huge cooler we had brought with us on our trip and it was quite heavy lugging up those stairs.) Our room had a bath tub, no roll in shower. It was also non smoking. We decided to add an extra night once we arrived and because all the King rooms were booked for our last night we had to move to 2 queens. King was definetly better, much more space in the room. Hope this helps.

Ubetiski--Hope I can help you a little...
We just got back in April from our 3rd trip to CBR & have stayed twice in Aruba (across the bridge & next to Jamaica). Both stays were on the 2nd floor & we hated it. This year I decided to fax a day ahead of my arrival & request a ground floor, corner room in Trinadad North (it's a smoking building, as one of us smoke, next to food court and main pool) We got everything we asked for...it did have 2 Double beds(which we needed with the kids). The room was situated on a small courtyard with tables & chairs that overlooked the water, but I didn't pay for a waterview room! I had my coffee there in the morning, which I made in my room, because there is a coffeemaker in every room of CBR.

Martinque building #26, 25 or 24 would be a great requests for you as it is next to the Old Port Royale Food Court...

Aruba #52, Trinadad North #31 and Martinque #21 are all Smoking buildings...All the others in the resort are non-smoking....

Corner rooms & king bed rooms seem larger as they often have an extra window, which ours did. Any other questions email me or pm, also passporter has some great maps as well as Deb Wills site...Best of luck..this is truly a lovely resort!

We, too, stayed in Jamaica bldg 46 (room 4608)and had a king room. It was on the 1st floor and it was also a corner room. Our room looked out at a parking lot. I don't believe we really ever drew the drapes because we were so busy outside the room every day and so tired at night. The bathroom had a tub. The resort is really lovely. The walk to the food court was about 7 minutes and we had to cross over Parrot Cay (a tiny island). We loved the walk. They had piped in music of the islands on our way. The bus stop was also very close by. Oh yeah, it was nonsmoking.
