Caribbean Beach FAQ part VI

Yes they are still giving KTTW cards. CM at front desk check in said they are going away in Jan. No news on rehab.

Just got back from Caribbean Beach yesterday, and thought I would give a trip report. Let me start by saying, this resort wasn't my first choice of where to stay. I wanted to stay at POR, but I was blessed enough to be able to book through my daughters best friends CM discount, but with that, our only choice with the discount was CB. I have been reading all the reviews for months!!!

I booked a water view room, and I called reservations about a week before my trip and requested either Jamaica 45 or Aruba 41, but at check in I was told I didn't get either request, and they put us in Martinique 22 cause it was closer, so we were fine with that. Had a view of the beach and lake, and at night, we just had to open our door and could clearly see Epcot fireworks at night. The room was spacious and clean. We were on the second floor, and it was very quite. We did have a refrigerator and it kept our soda very cold. If we needed anything, I would leave a note for housekeeping, and it would always be there when we got back at night, including more blankets and bags for dirt clothes. The beds were comfortable but VERY small. I know they will upgrade to queen next year, but we have a King bed at home, so the bed was very small for us. Only had towel art on day one.

The resort itself is beautiful!!!!!! I for sure would stay there agian. We ate a few times at Port Royal for breakfast and dinner. Lots of selections. It was usually crowded, but still could always find a table. A little Hint, if you don't want to pay for a bottle of water, when you pay for your meal, you can ask for a cup to get water, and the cup is free. You can't get soda of course because it doesn't have the chip, but we did learn you can get Hot Chocolate:rolleyes1. We also one night got a large pizza, and we all were impressed with how good it was.

Pools were nice but we never swam. They had nightly movies by the main pool, and lots of people would watch them. As far as buses, we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. We did find that when coming back from parks, different stops would be first depending on where the bus would come in from.

Our only complaint would be where the Custom House is located. It was very inconvenient. There is no bus stop for it. We were lucky that my daughters friend who is the CM, and also stayed with us in our room, had a car, so if I wanted to make a payment on room charges, she could take me up there, but if you didn't have a car, you would have to walk far. The closest stop is Barbados.

On a side note, we LOVED the Magic Bands. So easy to use.

We loved this resort and had a great time.:goodvibes

Thanks for the mini trip report. I know this doesn't help you, but for anyone reading this that has an upcoming trip it might help. Just about anything you need to do at the Custom House can be done at the Concierge Desk located at Old Port Royale. We always use Gift Cards to cover our room charges and we stop by the Concierge Desk at OPR every couple days to pay off the balance. :thumbsup2

Just to clarify...the internal resort suttle bus does stop at the Custom House. The buses for the parks do not.

I never even saw an internal bus?? All the buses that pulled up had park names on them. :confused3 Glad to know they have one.

I see that the Disney Magic Express bus stop is also at the Custom House. Does that mean on departure day we have to take the internal shuttle with our carry on luggage on the internal bus. Also, if we are taking DCL transfers to the port
do we also have to get ourselves to the custom House for departure to the port.?

On departure day we have Bell Services come get us, our luggage and take us to the Custom House. We just call them the day before to set it up.

Sorry, I don't know about DCL pick up. Though I would think it's the same as Magical Express.

We just got back as well, and we were also in Martinique 22. Having never stayed at CBR, I read as many reviews as I could. There were many positive reviews but I was worried about the few complaints of musty smells in the rooms. Not one problem! The rooms were clean and fresh and no complaints about mousekeeping. Even tho the resort was busy we never felt overwhelmed with people, all CM's were helpful and courteous even tho they were constantly busy, the small pool close by was quiet and restful and food court more than adequate! We were in Martinique22, rooms 2243 and 2244, they had the interior connecting doors so we could go from room to room, and 2243 was a corner room with extra windows so lots of light! We did have a new fridge.
The buses ran often and seemed to be about 15-20 min to any park. Only problem was on a Friday afternoon, traffic was horrendous and a bus to DT Disney took almost 40min.
For our trip as a whole, the weather was super fantastic, magic bands and FP+ worked great, but crowd levels were much higher than projected. A CM even told us they were called in and working extra because Disney didn't expect the crowds. We loved the Caribbean Beach resort! Had a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

Thanks so much for the report! I'm glad to hear that you had a great stay and had no issues.

We were in room 2242!!!! :)

Planning how many quarters to bring between toll $ & laundry facilities. Do Disney resorts, more specifically CBR, still use quarters or will I tap my Magic Band for payment when using the washer & dryers?

No one has reported the washers & dryers going to credit card/magic bands yet so I assume that they are still quarters like when we were there in May. It is $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. There are change machines in the laundry rooms and vending machines for detergent.

too funny! We probably rode the bus together and passed on the walkway! Wasn't the weather just great!? Was sad to come home and back to reality! Time to start planning the next trip! Happy holidays!

Is 2243 on the corner overlooking the beach? That's where we were last year - 26?? This year.

I absolutely love CBR, only mod/value with beaches!!!!

Does anyone know of any maps listing the actual room #s ... So I can request a corner and water view?
