:woohoo:We also just booked CBR for the first time with a preferred room and free dining and would like to hear form CBR veterns as well.

We love CBR! I have no cons about the resort! It is a large resort but if you booked a preferred room, you will be close to the main pool and Old Port Royale which is the food court! Bus stops are very close and never any problems with the buses. Food court is great! Never had a bad meal from there! The CM's are very nice! I also like the fact that each village has their own private pool besides the main pool area! We have been staying at CBR since our first on-site stay and will not change because we love it so much.
My family loved it so much my daughter even stayed there for her honeymoon!

We are not staying there this year unfortunately but that is just the case of financial reasons. Am a little upset over it but at least we get to go to Disney which is the most important thing.

You will not be disappointed with your stay at CBR! Enjoy your stay and trip!

Half a mile, yep, it's absolutely nothing, I walked out my room, either went over or under the bridge (over the bridge is actually quicker, that 15 secs will mean everything :rotfl: ) and you see the Pool area in front of you and it's then it's just a few minutes.

I guess some could say it's a pain if you want a fill-up on your resort mug, fair enough, but I stayed at AoA, AKL and popped into Pop as well and they could easily have a walk anyway, so not sure what the beef is really.

It's a fantastic resort, I absolutely loved the Pirates Room, I'd love maybe they're area to be spruced up a bit with some sort of Pirate effect or so, I guess the main pool has that type of theming, but think the Pirates Room Area (Trinidad South) could have some additional theming to it and a touch of Pirate/Caribbean music playing around lowly. :)

My husband's the only soda drinker in the family, so the mug thing is no big deal for us. I wouldn't even get one except that it's included in our DDP. My daughter and I would only be refilling ours with water, if/when we use them.

We're looking forward to our Pirate room! It sounds and looks pretty neat! pirate:

Just modified our reservation for RO discount Nov 30-Dec 6th! Excited to try this resort and would like to learn more here!!

Any suggestions: we will arrive around noon, maybe have lunch at the resort, is it "easy" to travel by bus to Downtown Disney? I thought we might enjoy going there our first night, kids are 3 and 6, our park tickets start the next day.

:thumbsup2

Hi all. I am wondering if there is a pin trading board at CBR? Last trip we stayed at POFQ & walked to POR & both resorts had pin boards in their hotel shops. My daughter really enjoyed looking at pins on the board, finding one she liked & putting one up herself. We are booked for CBR for Oct & she wants to know if a board is located anywhere on site.

Downtown Disney is one of our first "Disney things to do" when we arrive. It won't take long to get to Downtown Disney from the resort. Depending on what time you decide to head back to the resort after going to DTD, you may pick up guests in Typhoon Lagoon on the way back.

I'm thinking that I remember there being a small board in the resort store but I can't say for sure. I know that there were castmembers there with their pin trading lanyards on.

I'm starting to feel a little protective of CBR, and I haven't even been there yet, lol! It was my first choice with my pin code and now that FD is out I can see it's last on everyone's list. It just makes me more determined to love it. :)

We saw my son's teacher from last year today, she used to work in the college program, MK in Tomorrowland stitching names on to Mickey ears. :) We told her we were going this fall and that we were staying at CBR, she said that's her favorite resort! So awesome to hear her gush about it. 87 days to go!

We just adore CBR! We are taking our 9th trip in November (with free dining) and of those 9 trips 6 have been at CBR. It's beautiful, the pool is great, and I really like the food court. We got a preferred room last time and that's what we're going with again this time. One of my best memories is being at one of the little beaches, watching my kids play in the sand, and then watching the fireworks from Epcot. I really can't wait to go back.

It was my first choice too and I kept hearing better things about POR but it just didn't appeal to me so I went with my gut and booked CBR. I'm like you - I'm more determined to love it!

We will be hauling two exhausted kids and their double stroller each day of our stay, do I want to request ground floor or are the stairs no biggie?thanks!

I would request a ground floor unit. There are no elevators - I wouldn't want to carry a double stroller up or down two flights of stairs.

We have stayed at CBR several times and we have never had a problem with buses or anything else. We typically walk over to the food court for coffee and a quick breakfast and try to catch one of the first buses , near that building, to the parks. It is a big, spread out resort but it is pretty and we always look at Disney as our 'exercise' and figure we are just burning more calories with the walk. We never request preferred rooms as I would rather spend the money on souvenirs or special events or upscale dining.
I called today to get the newly posted pass holder rates and $205. was knocked off our room rate and we'll be there for the F&W festival! That's $205. more to spend on Party for the Senses or other events! The preferred room would have knocked about $100. off. The discounts really do help make the passes worth their cost!

Have you been to WDW before? From CBR it is very easy to catch a bus to Downtown Disney. Those restaurants fill quickly as do the ones in the parks, so make reservations once you know which one you want! Don't miss Ghirardelli for desert regardless of where you eat. They'll even make you things that aren't on their menu. I love their old fashioned ice cream sodas and they aren't on the menu! The kids will probably like Lego Land as well and check the schedules as there is usually entertainment there.

I heard that refurbs were going to be done at CBR, does anyone know when?

Hey all! So how is the preferred rooms better as far as bus stops?

As the others have said, there is no difference. Each village has their own bus stop. When we stayed in Martinique 26, we used the Old Port Royale bus stop because it was a little bit closer than the Martinique stop. When we stayed in Aruba, our building was a little bit closer than the Aruba stop.

I was told that they are to begin in 2014 but there's no specific schedule yet. When I asked if they would be happening when we arrive in May, 2014, I was told that it was a real possibility but that they would make sure that the guests were not inconvenienced.
