Just returned from 7 awesome nights at CBR. I am so glad we stayed here. We will definitely be staying here for our future visits!!

Thanks to Mickeystoontown for easing my fears of staying here. I was getting nervous after reading complaints on the board but all were unfounded in our experience!

I'm so very glad to hear that you had a great time! Isn't the resort wonderful?!?!

It truly is. We had the best vacation ever and CBR was a big part of it. I posted a review to try to help people who have concerns like I did. Trying to pay it forward because we really love it and want others to enjoy it.

I just read your review, it was great! We Love CBR!!! Its our favorite, and we've tried 3 of the 4 moderates. We just love everything that they have there, and if they do infact upgrade to Queen size beds, well that will just seal the deal of us never staying anywhere else. Glad you had a great trip!!!

Wow, this is an amazing thread!

I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere in this thread. I tried looking for the answer, but there's so much information here that I couldn't find it if it's there. We will be staying in one of the new pirate rooms. Is Trinidad South the only place with the pirate rooms or is there another village as well? We have asked for a standard view, so is there a specific room that we could ask for that would give us a decent view? We don't mind being on the top floor, if that helps.

And I guess I have another question: Thanks to the awesomeness that is the internet and the ability to have lots of tabs open at once (the better to conduct my research...)I discovered an In Room Celebration called Me Pirate Adventure that was just made available on the 21st of October. Four hundred smackers seems like an awful lot, but I'm curious if anyone's done this and what they thought. I'm about 1,000% sure we can't manage this surprise, but I'm curious just the same.

Thanks!

Trinidad South is the only are with Pirate rooms. I don't recommend asking for a specific room. Try to keep your requests not too specific. Resquest things like 1st or 2nd floor, close to bus stop, corner room, etc.

Well, I heard back from guest relations. No luck on getting info on the new beds :(

While we sincerely appreciate your interest, Jennifer, we have not been
given any information with regard to updates at Disney's Caribbean Beach
Resort. We would suggest that you contact us closer to the time of your
arrival, to find out if any changes have been made.

Are ALL the rooms in Trinidad North 31,32,33 and Martinique 24,25,26 preferred rooms?
We don't want to pay extra but would like to be close to the whirlpool. =]
Thank you.

I've only had one castmember that would give me any specific information and that's the info that I posted quite a while back. He said that the CBR would be undergoing a refurb which was to be completed by the end of 2012. When I asked about the beds, he said he wasn't sure but thought they'd be upgrading to queen size. I guess we'll all just have to wait and see.

You are correct.

Yes, they are all Preferred. You can ask to have one of those added to your ressie, but if you want to be guaranteed one in those buildings, better to book it and pay for it. We do every trip and never regret it. After staying at POR and booking only a standard room, we'll make sure to stay put at CBR in a Preferred Booking!!!

I have to ask and I am sorry if this was already covered.. but is the Pirate rooms at CB smaller that regular rooms? we just got back and DH swears that they are!

Ok, so I just read on another thread that Pop Warner is staying at CBR this year, please tell me that this is wrong?

We just returned from our first stay at CBR, just wanted to post a few things about our stay. We found cbr to be a pretty resort the plants and flowers throughout the villages were nice. I liked the way they said welcome to the island when we passed through the gate. We thought they did a great job with the themeing. The quiet pool was nice and relaxing and I enjoyed laying in the hammock under the palm tree we stayed in the Aruba village near the quiet pool. It was a little bit of a walk but not too bad, we rented a car so we drove over to the food court a few times we would stop on our way out to fill our mugs with coffee and tea and soda on the way back later in the day. The resort is very spread out we drove around the resort and were very glad not to be staying in Trinidad I read those rooms were far away but didn't realize they would be that far away from the food court. I wouldn't want to stay there without a car, we saw a woman trying to flag down a bus that said internal on it and it drove right past her. The custom house is far from most of the villages. The main pool was nice and the separate area for the little ones is cute. They had a lot of activities for the kids at the pool but I'm not sure why they feel the need to shout over a microphone to the children who are playing the games directly in front of them we could here it clearly across the lake when at the quiet pool, they also had a dance party for the kids and had the music blasting. I realize it's Disney and it's mostly about the kids but there is a lot of adults there to. I'm glad we stayed and would consider going back, even with a preferred room I would want to have a car too many bus stops overall a very pretty resort and a great trip! Linda :)
