Glad to hear that you had a good stay at the CBR. If you thought the rooms at the CBR were small, be glad that you decided to upgrade from POP because the rooms at Pop are quite a bit smaller than the CBR rooms.

I'm happy to see that they've started showing the movies at the resort. Hopefully, they will keep showing them.

We've stayed at all the Values. From what I read the SQ. footage of a CBR room is 340ft. The POP rooms are 260ft.
I don't know if it's because we had a room on the corner? But I found the rooms to be pretty much the same size as at POP. The only difference was the vanity area which was bigger with a double sink instead of a single. The table was also a bit bigger. The room may have been longer but we had the same sized beds as at POP. I don't think if we wouldn't have gotten the upgrade we would have went with a MOD. We are never in the room anyway. We will probably be choosing the new Value when we go next time.

The bathroom wasn't any bigger that's for sure. The toilet is right upon the tub. The rainhead shower wasn't that great. I got myself wet more often than not turning on the shower for my little one. Mousekeeping may have turned the head one morning and the door got wet as well. I thought the rooms were kind of aveage. I thought they would be amazingly bigger for the MOD.
I am standing right at the door in this picture. Since we had a corner room I had the drapes closed because I didn't want walkers by looking in.

I have heard the village pools also referred to as "quiet pools". What are the rules at these pools? are they actually quiet, IE no screaming, loud play etc or just no jumping and horseplay? Are children allowed in these pools? If yes, are they welcome or frowned apon? Are inner tubes and teh like allowed in these pools?

It was a quiet pool because we were often times the only one in it. The pool goes up to 6 feet but I did see some people brought life jackets from the main pool. I don't recall if inner tubes are allowed in this pool but it's really small. There is no jumping in because of the depth. It goes from about 3feet to 6 feet in a ropped off deep end. My tween and I were in here by ourselves. I think the main thing is being respectful of other guests.

I have never stayed CBR, what keeps me away is the size and hearing that everything is so spread out. The many bus stops within the resort. Have a short trip planned in February right now at POP, have stayed at all values all mods except CBR, Person I am going with bringing her grandson and he just loves pirates. this would be his first time and 5 years old?

I figured I would post this question here since you all seem so knowledgable about CBR.

I booked a stay there from November 5 - 12. We are DVC members, but because it was a last minute trip , there was no DVC available, so I exchanged the points for use at a different Disney resort. A CBR pirate, water view room was the only room available at any moderate resort. We need two beds because it is myself and my brother going.

Should I attempt to request a different room when I get to CBR or send a fax request? I love the resort, so that's not the problem. I'm excited about the room itself, I'm just a little concerned about the pirate beds (I've heard mixed reviews) and the distance from Trinidad South to OPR. Let me know your thoughts. I'm okay with walking to OPR, I just don't want to feel like I'm walking forever just to get a cup of coffee.

I was just wondering how crowded CBR was during this week. This is the week we would like to go next year . I know the Epcot resorts were pretty much booked when I checked a month or so ago.

It's very interesting to see that they have fires on the beach now. Movies at OPR too. The only other time we had movies at CBR was in 2008 when the main pool was closed for its makeover. Only 66 days to go before we can check it out in person!

Not really sure about the conventions in the Epcot area but I can tell you that I've been at the CBR when it was booked to capacity and it did not feel crowded at all. That's one of the good things about the size of the resort.

I've tried my best to get more information on the possible bed size change but haven't gotten any more. Maybe you can do an online chat with a Disney castmember and see if they tell you anything more than they told me.

I agree. Having stayed at both Pop and CRB while using a stroller, I felt that the CBR room was a good deal roomier. I had no problem getting the stroller into and out of the room by myself. At Pop, it was difficult to get the stroller into the room because there was a bed just inside the door, which didn't leave enough space to push the stroller in.

It was wonderful, thank you. I think it was one of our best trips ever. We had great weather and we loved CBR.
