We will be staying at CBR for our 1st trip (8/28 to 9/6) - i do NOT have preferred rooms BUT I did request buildings Martinique or Jamaica. We will at MCO 6:15 PM - so I assume 8 PM at the resort.

Ques: should we do the check-in online OR to do when we get there since I have put in a request???

If Online - how warly can you check in - and if they assign the room and you don't like it - can you change it???

Since we are getting in so late in the evening - i am worried that all the good rooms will be gone.

Any advice?????

THANKS.

So excited! Just booked my first stay at CBR for March 2012!!:cool1: I originally had the Magic booked, but changed my reservation to CBR since free dining came out.

I can't wait to stay at this resort!

I'm not sure what the max. advance time is, but on our last trip we did on-line checkin the day before we arrived. It was nice because they had everything printed & waiting when we got there (even my birthday button was done & waiting for me in our stuff :goodvibes). Plus they had a special line for on-line checkin so we got through a little quicker than everyone in the regular line. (Of course that was the Poly... I don't know if all the resorts have the separate queue for on-line checkin.)

You still speak to a real person when you check in so I imagine if you don't like somethng that was pre-assigned they can change it.

As for the room.... Is there really a bad room at WDW?
Seriously, if you absolutely have to have one of those buildings you may want to consider paying for prefered. Remember, they only say they will do their best to meet request, no promises. So even if you arrived earlier you still aren't sure to get the building you want.
That said, you are into a slower time of year (crowd calendar is running around 5 most days) so I am guessing that resort occupancy will be similar. Which should make it easier for you to have the request done.
But if not getting those buildings would just ruin your trip, personally I would pay the extra $$ to lock it in.

I'm stoked, we're in for CBR September 25-29th! We decided to forgo the dining plan, since we already have 2 days worth of tickets, and we're eating a dinner at Shula's one night.

Hopefully we'll stay in Jamaica again, but it doesn't really matter to me. Anywhere at CBR would make me happy.

Now if we can only get one of those brand new room-only PINs that are going out this weekend :)

So excited! Booked our vacation to stay here January 9 with free dining! This is my DH and my first trip together at Disney! I've stayed at Port Orleans and Coronado before, so I figured if we stay somewhere new to me I won't drag him around... at the resort that is. :lmao:

Can't wait to stay here!

Changed resorts from Dolphin to CBR today to take advantage of free dining offer.
So, now I am on a mission to find out everything about CBR.
It will me me, DH and 2 kids 6 and 8.

We booked a preferred room, not sure if I think that was a good spending of $$ so may look into a standard room. What do you all think?
We will probably use the food court less than once a day or close to once a day. I like the idea of being close to the main pool.

What area do people like best- Trinidad North or Martinique?

Finally, is there a water view preferred?

We like Martinique...:surfweb:

So do I need to bring my own shipping supplies or do they provide that (for a fee of course)?

I want to do the new Me Pirate Adventure "In Room Celebration" and I'm thinking if it's anything like the Mickey Grand Welcome there might be some large items I need to ship home.

We are going on the Disney Dream after our 4 nights at CBR and I thought it would be so much easier just to ship all the WDW items home before we get on the boat so I'll we will have to worry about bringing back on the flight will be the items from the Cruise.

Thanks for the info. I hope you can answer my new questions too.

We have always brought our own stuff, but I'm sure you could get a box from the Gift Shop and then when you take it to the front desk, they may have the supplies you need. But we just always have it with us to be on the safe side.

is there a reason why? this will be our first time too and i had requested Trinidad North based on a few posts i had seen, i still have time to change that so i would love to hear what you like about Martinique

You are ALL going to laugh at my comment. :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

It's usually the first stop the busses stop at for pick up and usually the first stop but not always for drop off at the end of the night. Yes, it is a tad closer to the food court and I was glad of that because my DD 11 has me going back and forth 50 times a day. HA ! HA !:rotfl2: It is also right between two pools - The reason my not be acceptable for some, but for us it just seems to work out - Room 2116 right next to the ice machine.

Sorry if my reasons are not helpful, I personally am not to hard to please, I could sleep in my van as long as I know we are at Disney - it's my DD 11, I have to make sure she's HAPPY :worship:

Can anyone tell me about the pirate adventure cruise advertised on the marina picture I saw?

I have two sons 5 and 10 would they enjoy this? What is involved and is it worth the extra $$

Thanks in advance for your responses,

Cheers,

Jeremy

They get the kids outfitted with a life vest and a bandanna before heading out on the pirate boat (ship?) to find treasure. They follow a treasure map, of course, teach the kids to say aarrgh, and stop at various beaches to look for clues or pieces of the map. The kids get a snack (juice box, goldfish crackers, rice krispy treat, I think). They eventually find the treasure and each get a share of the loot. DD8 had a blast in February. I'd say it's definitely worth the extra money. While DD was on the cruise, I took some photos around the resort, and spent some time just relaxing on a lounge chair. :goodvibes

JCEMOM,

Thanks for the response. Sounds like it is a lot of fun for the kids and free time for Mom and Dad.

You're welcome! If I can find the pics I took of the cruise and DD's loot I will post them. I had them stored on my old computer, then we got a new computer and I put everything on CDs (intending to transfer it all over) but don't know where in the heck I put the CDs. :headache:

I will be travelling to Disney, and when I get up in the morning on vacation I like to take my coffee and go find a comfortable seat (not a park bench if I can help it, and not necessarily by the pool altho I can do either one of those if needs be) and enjoy my coffee. I was thinking that CBR would be nice choice, as I could sit by the beach?
I've been to Disney many times, but I haven't yet been to CBR. (There are other choices similar, but CBR seems to be at my price range)
Thanks
