Has anyone who has stayed at CBR ever shipped a package(s) home from the resort?

I talked with a CM just a few mom ago and they said it was really easy. Just take what I want shipped to the front desk and they would handle everything.

I want to see if it really is that easy. We are flying to WDW for 4 nights and then doing a Disney Dream Cruise for 4 nights. I don't want to carry a lot of stuff on the cruise so I thought I would ship home the WDW stuff.

Thanks for any info you might be able to give me.

So excited I just booked our first stay @ CBR 10/1-10/12. My question is... Is it worth it to pay the extra for a "prefered" room location? I was thinking of calling and asking for building 25. But after reading more I see it's $25 more a night not $15. Is it really worth it? Or would say building 51 or 45 be ok? We will be walking to the main pool daily. As I have 2 little ones that are going to LOVE the pirate ship. Not to mention the BIG one will LOVE the pool n slide. Thanks

For our family, booking a preferred room really isn't worth the extra money. We have stayed in one of the furthest buildings (non-pirate room) and our walk from Jamaica 41 to Old Port Royale was just 5 minutes. It's a nice leisurely walk back and forth. My mother, who was 77 at the time, had no problem making the walk either.

If you do book a preferred room, I'd suggest requesting Martinique Bldg. 26 which is super close to Old Port Royale.

Thanks. Normally I do like to roll the dice w/ the room assignment. But I thought seeing this is a "do-Over" vacation for us I want it to be nice. And I know by day 7 our feet will be tired. But I also know giving the kids an extra $250 for souvies will be nice instead of pay extra for a closer room.

I did just check and it's $282 more so I guess we'll just roll w/ it.

If it were me, I'd save the $282 and, like you said, "roll with it". I do see that you've got a couple of younger kids so I'd make sure to put in a request for a ground floor. The steps aren't hard to walk up (I posted pictures of them on the CBR pics thread) but I think a ground floor would work better for you guys.

Oh yes Thank You That would be a MUST. I can just see DH pulling up a double stroller w/ 2 sleeping babies and all the bags that comes w/ them. :rotfl: Ok maybe it would be funny the first time but after that he might not see the humor...

I've requested ground floor two or three times and have always gotten the request. I told them that my mother would be with us and that she didn't do well climbing stairs. Keep in mind, though, that it is a request and you may not get it. Speaking of requests, if you aren't going to book a preferred room, then I'd suggest requesting one of the buildings in Jamaica. It's a beautiful village and is so quiet and peaceful. I have pictures of the resort and Jamaica in my trip report and on the CBR pic thread.

Just received our confirmation and we have officially moved our reservation from POFQ to the CBR.

We stayed at CBR in 1999 for our Honeymoon and loved it. We just added a few extra nights to our Thanksgiving Vacation and decided to stay at the CBR in the Pirate Room for our DS.

We are so excited. We will be there Nov. 19th thru Nov. 23rd.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the changes that have been made to the CBR since your last stay. The main pool is awesome! I look forward to reading your review of the pirate rooms.

has anything changed since 2006 other than the pool refurb and the pirate rooms? That's to say have the regular rooms been refurbished as well?

We stayed there for our honeymoon in 06 and loved it, and I'm on the verge of changing from off-site to CBR and splurging since it's our 5th anniversary trip. That won't be the deciding factor by any means, but it was more for curiosity sake if anything else is different that I don't already know about.

I'm pretty sure the "Nemo" renovation was done since 2006. When we stayed there in March 2008, they were still pretty fresh. :)

I was wondering if people decorate their windows @ CBR like they do at the Values? TIA

:wizard: We've stayed at CBR twice and never noticed any window decorations. We did see lots of windows decorated when we stayed at ASMo.

I've seen a few windows decorated at the CBR over our six stays. I usually make a small (8 1/2x 11) poster that has my Dis name and our celebrations on it and then buy a few Disney clings from the Dollar Tree to decorate our window. I don't go all out like I've seen pictures of here on the Dis.

Bumping for you because I'd like to know an answer as well. I buy too many souvenirs and often overpack so it'd be nice to know how to ship a package back home.

I have to say we stayed at CBR last July 26 -August 9 for our honeymoon, we stayed in Aruba..And I loved it...We had a beautiful room on the corner so we got 2 windows, house keeping was great. I thought the buses ran ok but then again we went during prime season....I loved the fact that each country had its own pool so at 3 in the morning when we were just getting back from a park we would go swimming.
I also have to say alot of family's with kids stayed in the countries closer to the main pool and dining area so it was very quiet.:thumbsup2 i loved it so much we are going back in well little over a month this time bringing our daughter and grandson.....so EXCITED......

The last time we stayed at CBR was about 6 years ago. At that time they had a tattoo stand with the hair wrap stand by the pool. Do they still have a tattoo stand there? We will be there in 15 days! I can't wait!

Changed resorts from Dolphin to CBR today to take advantage of free dining offer.
So, now I am on a mission to find out everything about CBR.
It will me me, DH and 2 kids 6 and 8.

We booked a preferred room, not sure if I think that was a good spending of $$ so may look into a standard room. What do you all think?
We will probably use the food court less than once a day or close to once a day. I like the idea of being close to the main pool.

What area do people like best- Trinidad North or Martinique?

Finally, is there a water view preferred?

You will love CBR - and your kids will love the main pool!! :thumbsup2 I prefer Martinique over Trinidad North (we've stayed in both) but there's not a lot of difference. For me, it's more the view as I'm walking to Old Port Royale (food court and main pool), but that's probably nitpicking. They're both fine. If you decide to book Standard, look into Jamaica or Aruba, right across the lake by crossing the bridge -- it's a short walk.

Finally, no, there is no water-view preferred -- it's either one or the other. But I wouldn't put much stock in a water-view anyway -- it can just as easily be a view of one of the quiet pools as a view of the lake.

Have a great time planning! :cool1:
