I'm geting ansy that I wish we can book already, but unfortunately we can't :sad1: We're waiting on two important details to happen first.

1. Tax refund (we've decided to use that to use towards our trip)
2. Our vacation bowling league has 4 more months to go (and it's the reason why we are going to WDW this year) :hyper:

Dh asked me a question yesterday after I told him about the 6 1/2 - 10 minute walk to the food court area. He thinks you can just hop on the bus at Trinadad South and take it to the food court (he did stay at CBR when he was there for a business trip in 2006). I don't think so, b/c I remember how the busses were at Pop when we were there in 2006. The busses just pick people up and take them to the different parks and drop them back off at the resort. Am I correct?

There is a bus that is the Internal Resort Shuttle that you can ride around the resort. It won't be the quickest trip to the food court, but your DH is correct. Have a great trip!

Ok, then. I guess DH knew what he was talking about . I honestly didn't think that you could. It may not be, as you said, "the quickest trip", but may come in handy if it's too cold out or raining. That's good to know.

Also Pop only has 1 bus top. while CBR has several

We are Disney Bound in about 2 1/2 weeks. Can't wait! We are staying at CBR. Thanks Safety Mom for all your info.

Is there a gift/souvinier shop at CBR? Out of everything I have read I have not found mention of one. I would find it hard to believe that there would Not be one. But can't find anything about one.

Also, this will be our 3rd time with our kids. Now 6 and 8. In the past we have ordered from Garden Grocer (worked amazing by the way) to have all kinds of things in our room and to take with us for meals since they are particular and would not eat much off the menu.

We will not be doing garden grocer this time but still want to have breakfast in our room. I will bring cereal with us. I usually ordered milk from Garden Grocer. Is there a place to pick up 1/2 gallon of milk (not looking for individual serving sizes like you would pick up at a counter service). We have stayed at the boardwalk and in one of their souvinier shops they had frozen meals, milk etc.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There is a gift shop/store at the CBR. It's located in Old Port Royale. There is a refrigerated case in the store that sells milk in larger containers than the individual sizes.

There is a refrigerated section in the back of the gift shop. I did this same thing. I brought those individual bowls of cereal and then bought a quart of milk. Of course it was overpriced but still worth it.

Sorry if this has been asked already, is there enough room to put a full size crib in a regular room? At first I figured we'd use a pack n play, but I am wondering if I should upgrade.

ALso if we use the PNP is there a place to put that out of the way?

Thinking of CBR for our upcoming trip, son wants a Nemo room or Pirate room. Which room location is closest to busses and food court? Also, hows the food at Old Port Royale?

We just got back. They had half gallons of skim and whole milk in the gift shop or $2.99.

We just got back from our trip yesterday. Before leaving I had some second thought about staying at CBR. I am SO glad that I did not change my mind. We LOVED :cloud9: it! It was so relaxing and beautiful. We did online check-in and it was pretty quick. Our room wasn't ready when we checked in (we were early,) but they were able to tell me which building we were in and sent me a text when our room was ready. I had requested buildings 45,44,22, or 15, but we were given Martinique room 2323. This was fine with me, so I didn't ask to see if anything else was available. We were really close to the Martinique bus stop which was very nice. It was probably about a 5-7 minute walk from our room to OPR with my kids. Our room was clean and Mousekeeping was good except for one day when our room did not get vacuumed. I also noticed a slight smell that seemed to come from the big drawer in the bench. As long as I kept the drawer slightly open it wasn't really an issue and I was the only one who noticed it.

We really didn't think the resort was that big, but maybe that's because our expectations were affected by how many complaints we read about the size of the resort. One morning we walked around most of the resort to explore and check out Caribbean Cay. The kids loved the new playground on the island. I have a ton of pictures that I'll try to get posted on the picture thread. Luckily, we had some pretty decent weather and we were able to enjoy pool during our trip. My kids loved both the pirate play area and the main pool. One of the lifeguards at the pirate play area was really great with the kids and my daughter loved him. We noticed that both the main pool and the quiet pools were heated. In fact, I thought that the quiet pools were warmer than the main pool.

We ate at the food court twice and their are lots of things available that are not listed on the menus at allears.net or wdwinfo. I had beef and bleu sandwich that was really good. It was also gigantic and could be easily shared. We really enjoyed eating outside at the pool or near Banana Cabana. One word of caution about eating outside though; get a box/carton for your food if you can, because the birds there are very aggressive. They will eat your food if you leave it unattended.

We didn't have any problems with the buses. We only had to stand/wait at when trying to leave the park at the end of the night, which is normal for any resort. Making multiple stops around the resort didn't bother us. We were the first to get picked up for MK and about midway for all other parks. My only gripe: It seemed like with the exception of DHS, CBR always had one of the farthest away bus stops at the theme parks.

This is now one of our favorite resorts. The Poly is still our favorite, but this is a close second and fits our budget much better. I'm really torn between wanting to stay here again and wanting to try some place new.

If anyone has any questions. I'd be happy to answer them. This thread was so helpful when planning our trip. :goodvibes

Thinking of POR for our upcoming trip, son wants a Nemo room or Pirate room. Which room location is closest to busses and food court? Also, hows the food at Old Port Royale?

I assume you typed "POR" by mistake, we're talking about Caribbean Beach Resort here. :hippie:

There's really no such thing as a Nemo room. There are rooms with the "normal" decor, and then there are Pirate rooms. Pirate rooms are a separate booking category. They cost more per night than standard rooms.

All of the rooms that are NOT Pirate rooms are decorated with a very slight Nemo motif. There are a few Nemo characters on the wall border at the top of the walls, and a few on the bedspreads. And that's it.

So if you DON'T reserve a Pirate room, your room will have an ever-so-slight Nemo theme. These are just the normal rooms.

CBR has 6 villages of guest buildings. All of the Pirate rooms are in one village, Trinidad South. Of all the villages, Trinidad South is the FARTHEST from Old Port Royale (the location of the food court).

Each village has its own bus stop, so there's no such thing as a village that is closer to a bus stop than any other village.

Perfect! Thank you everyone. That is exactly what I was hoping for!

Welcome back! :goodvibes Thanks for the great review. So glad to hear that you had such a nice stay at CBR! We can't wait to get back there in just over 7 months! :cool1:

I meant CBR. Dont know why I put the other. Thanks for answering my questions. I think my son would love the pirate rooms but not sure if the extra walking would be an issue. I guess I will just have to think on it awhile. Thanks again!

Ugh a review like this makes me want to change to CBR. We picked POFQ I think it is beacuse we are use to it. We have stayed at POR and CSR but the slides are to intense for my girls right now. POFQ has a pretty lame slide for my girls. LOL The only mod we haven't tried is CBR. My main concern is we are on the QSDP and will be using the food court daily. SO we need some varitey. The walking don't really bother me we have stayed at SSR and that was a hike to the food court but it was managable.

After staying at POP for the past 2 trips we are done with the values. My girls are getting a bit older and there is a diffrence in room size.

I am so excited to be staying at CBR on our upcoming trip 8/19 to 8/26!:banana::banana:I am like a little kid jumping out of my skin. :rotfl2:

We have never stayed here and did pay for a preferred room so we shouldn't be too far from the main pool and foud court.

Now howmany times can I make a plan and change it before August rolls around....:rotfl:

I am liking the review ! Thank you!

Not sure where we'll end up as far as room location. But sounds like anywhere may be good? ! :goodvibes
