Hi
Where do you get a taxi from at CBR? Old Port Royal or the Custom House? We want to get one the last day of our stay to go to an early breakfast. We didn't want to waste time on the bus. Also, on our last day, if we decide to swim for a while, can we take the bus that goes around the resort from the pool area to get to the Custom House to get the Magical Express bus? Thanks!!

I'd bet you can get a taxi right in your "island". I've never used a taxi at CBR before, but I don't see why you'd have to go to OPR or the Custom House to get one. And yes, you can use the internal resort shuttle/bus to get to the Custom House from the pool/OPR, although, it would probably be quicker to walk. You'd have to wait for the shuttle and then I believe it would go to both Trinidads, Jamaica and Aruba first. Not sure if it goes to Barbados before or after the Custom House.

Hi
We would probably be at the Custom House since we would be checking in our luggage with Magical Express. It's the day we leave and we have an 8:25 breakfast at 1900 PF. So after checking our luggage, we would get the taxi to the Grand Floridian. Also, I know we can get a bus to MK then the monorail to the GF, but we didn't want to take the time to do it. We might do that after our breakfast. Thanks!!

Just so you know, you do not have to go to the Custom House to check your luggage. Bell services will come to your room to take it and hold it for you at theCustom House.

Hi
I thought I had to go to the Custom House to check my luggage because I had to show my drivers license for identification. I know that bell services will get it from our room for us. We were just at POR and they came with a little golf cart and picked us up and our luggage and took us to the luggage check in to check our luggage with ME back to Phila. I just wanted to check it in, so we can go eat breakfast and not have to worry about it, when we come back, since it has to be checked at least 3 hours before you leave for the airport. Thanks for all your help.

If you're talking about doing RAC, I would assume then yes you have to go to the Custom House. I use Southwest, so no RAC (yet) at CBR :sad2:, and therefore we were just having them hold our luggage and then we had to take it on ME with us.

We've never used ME or the buses before, since we've always drove or rented a car, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a run down about how long it takes on average to get to the different resorts? Also, we've got a couple of ADRs at the resorts- the Poly and the Grand Floridian. About how much in advance to we need to be getting on a bus to make sure we make it in time?

Thanks!

Allow at least an hour. Maybe more for some places.

Resort to resort is very tough...throughout all of WDW. At least if you're going to the GF & Poly, you just take the bus to MK and hop on the monorail. But yes, figure 60-75 minutes.

ok thanks! Although I realized I "mis-typed" and I meant how long does it also take to get to the different PARKS, not resorts. Does it still take an hour to get to MK, DHS, Epcot and AK???

CBR is very centrally located. Once the bus leaves the resort it takes about 3 minutes to get to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK & AK. So on top of that travel time you will want to leave up to about 10 minutes to make all the stops within the resort, if you would happen to get on at the very first stop. And allow up to 20 minute to wait for a bus, but they usually come sooner in my experience.

In the past (at other resorts) we called down to bell services ahead of time to let them know we wanted a cab. That way they can arrange for one to be there when you get there. Give them a good 30 - 60 minutes. That way you are sure it will be waiting for you instead of getting there & finding out there are none around & you have to wait.

I saw them at the Custom House when we checked in.

We had a great stay at CBR this time. Much better than in 2006. We got our request for Jamaica 45 which was wonderful. Our room was clean(except for a spider web on one of the lamps but no biggie) and mousekeeping was wonderful. Our friends with a 4 yo got a towel animal and her dolls arranged a few times as well as a welcome signed photo from Mickey and the gang to celebrate their first visit to WDW.
We were in room 4540, courtyard view 2nd floor and very close to ice machine and stairs that led right to the bridge. The walk to OPR was nice and not too far at all. The walk to our quiet pool and laundry wasn't far either. We loved everything about the place except busses were still a bit of an issue...not terrible but since we had a car we used it most of the time to avoid waits.
I would definitely stay here again, but we are huge fans of the Epcot resorts because we love just strolling over to Epcot so when we can afford it that will still be our first choice, but as far as Mods go CBR is very relaxing and fun, especially if you are in Jamaica or one of the preferred buildings.
Oh, and I highly recommend express check in. We were in and out in 3 minutes! Awesome!!!!
