It's official!!!! We are booked Nov19-27 at CBR with FD pin!!!!! I am so excited. This will be our first trip to CBR.

I've got a quick question for all of you CBR experts:
What is the bus route for CBR, as in which village is first on the route ect.

Some buses start in Jamaica, go clockwise around the resort with the last stop being Trinidad South.

Some buses start in Martinique, go clockwise around the resort with the last stop being Barbados.

It used to be set to each park, but we found that not to be the case last time we were there. But we did find that the majority of them started in Martinique. We got on in Aruba and the bus made one more stop - Barbados - and then left the resort.

Once the bus leaves the resort it is 3 minutes to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK and AK.

thanks!!!

Just curious... how "thin" are the walls at the resort? And do people feel one building is better than others?

Thanks!

We've never heard our next door neighbors at the CBR so I guess the walls aren't too "thin". We have stayed in Martinique 23, 25 and 26 as well as twice in Jamaica 41. Loved all of the locations.

I am so looking forward to our trip. I am so glad that it appears the crowds will be low for our trip first week of October. Last time we were at CBR we had bad luck with bus service but it sounds like lately it has improved or maybe we just had really bad luck last time. Anyway I am looking forward to being there. Can't wait to be back to my Laughing Place!:rotfl2:

Our trip just changed a bit, my husband is starting a new job tomorrow so my mom is now going with the kids and I. We will be doing more pool time etc, it is my first time at CBR, which bldg is closest to the main pool and is the main pool by the food court?
Thanks

Martinique 24, 25, 26, and all Trinidad North buildings are near Old Port Royale where you'll find the main pool next to the building that houses the food court and shops. All of these building are considered "preferred" and are more expensive than a regular room. The increased price will vary depending on the time of year (value, regular, peak).

A silly question, but...

How do you pronounce "Caribbean" Beach Resort?

Do you say Ca-RIB-ean or Cari-BEE-an ?

How do they pronounce it when they say "Welcome to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort" upon your arrival?

Just curious! I want to be saying it right when I get there in August! I tend to say Ca-RIB-ean, but have noticed other people saying it the other way. (I think I do say Pirates of the CariBEEan, but for some reason the resort comes out easier the other way.)

haha, you know till the movies came out, everyone i knew (even the planning videos if i remember correctly) said it "car-ribb-ean" refering to both the ride and the resort, but ever since the pirates movies came out, it seem everyone calls is "cari-bbee-an" now. but no matter, i still used the first one out of habit more then anything else, and alot of people do too so dont worry, you wont sound silly no matter which way you say it...

We are seriously considering moving our March trip to Thanksgiving b/c we got a fd pin we could use for that time, but our usual resort, CSr is sold out on the pin. Can someone tell me a littel about why you like CBR to put my mind at ease about giving up my Queen beds?? It is as spread out as it looks on the map? What would be agood room location request if we ar not booking preferred and want to be reasonably close to a food cout and as close as possible to a bus stop? How likely are you to get a room request?

A lot of questions I know, but my head is swimming here. I thought I had it all planned out, but Thanksgiving is really better for me than Mardi Gras with school.

iv never stayed at the csr (it was our second choice but went with cbr insted) and though i cant compare the two, we were totaly happy with our choice. in a nutshell the cbr is beautiful, tropical, quiet (even with a little leauge baseball team staying there) with a great pool and decent food court (ok i really wasnt thrilled with the food court, but everyone else seemed to love it so what do i know) the only real problem we had was the distance to old port royale (we were in barbados which was probably 8-10 minute walk to opr) and the bus service wasnt the best (not as bad as iv read on here, but there was quite a few times we waited 20-30 minutes for a bus, mostly coming back from the parks though, i dont think we ever waited longer then 10-15 minutes going to a park from the resort) and very very crowded at the time. it was not uncommon for the buses to be totaly filled with every seat taken and every available floor space filled with people standing (now alot of this had to do with us usally being the last stop before the buses hit the parks, but it also was normaly the first stop once we arrived back from a park) but we did got the last week of may, so it wasnt quit peak time yet, but it was getting there. all in all though it was a great stay, and it will probably always been my go to resort from here on out (it holds a special place in my heart cause my first trip to disney at the age of 5 over 20 years ago, we stayed here, then on my first trip as an adult we stayed here, so its kinda special)

Will you be paying extra to stay in a preferred location? If so, I'd request Martinique 25 or 26. If not, them I'd request something in Jamaica.

Our Son, Daughter-In-Law and Granddaughter are at CBR right now in Aruba village wish we were there too!
This is the 1st trip for our 2 1/2 year old grandaughter :wizard:

I might have missed it on here somewhere, didn't look through all the posts. But what I was wondering was if there was a map of the CBR that had the mileage listed. As far as the actual distance from say Aruba 56 to the main pool? Just trying to figure out if a preferred location is worth the extra 230 bucks.

Magical Express question:

Which resorts have you stopped at on your way to CBR?

I know Magical Express can stop at other resorts before going to CBR, and that's not a problem at all. In fact, I wouldn't mind making a stop or two at another resort to see what it's like, at least from the outer perimeter. :rotfl:

Thanks for any info.

Are there pirate-themed rooms in Trinidad North or only in Trinidad South? My DD has been after me to change our resort from the Poly to CBR due to the pirate rooms. LOL. I have to say it would be quite a savings for us too ;)
I was looking at a resort map and it looks like Trinidad North isn't too terribly for from OPR.
Can you guys offer any advice? I'm clueless when it comes to CBR :worship:
