We stayed at CSR last trip (kids were 10, 5, and nearly 3). We loved the theming, the pool/play area, and the relaxed atmosphere. We are going to try CBR this trip, but all 5 of us would be very happy to stay at CSR again. :goodvibes
That is so great to hear! Thanx!
We stayed at CSR in 2008. It was okay, at best. Too gosh darn big though.
This is going to be interesting to research over the next several months. Thanx!

See, I was pleasantly surprised because I expected it to be huge. We wound up in the farthest building from the main pool and the walk was easy even for our little ones. Now I'm worried that CBR is going to be too big. :upsidedow

I think it really just depends on your family's likes. We were all interested in the theming of CSR and found the resort very relaxing. I've seen several negative reviews, but we loved it.

I always see positive reviews of POR on this board, but honestly it just really doesn't appeal to me. We've actually been actively trying to avoid it (which is odd because it's the most reasonable option for a family of 5).

I definitely agree with PP's about it being about what your family's preference is. If the CSR looks appealing to you you could always try at least a split stay, it is still Disney so none of the hotels are "awful" just some are nicer/ more appealing in my view.

We just got back from a wonderful 7 night stay at CBR! It was our first stay and I was very happy with the resort. We have stayed at 3 deluxe studios and POR in the past couple years, but this is one of my favorite resorts. I hope to go back soon! Our room was standard in the Aruba section. The walk to the food court and pool is beautiful! I didn't mind the distance being 30 weeks pregnant. My kids loved the pool and beach areas! The only negative was the 7 bus stops and the hour and a half wait/drive to DTD and back.

Also loved the Nemo themed room, HI DEF TV, food court, music and outside bar area.

I agree. Every family is different. I found your comment regarding POR interesting b/c it hasn't called to me at all either and I haven't even researched it at all for whatever reason. But, I am going to check that (POFQ) out too just in case. thanks!

Agreed! :thumbsup2

Can someone please tell me if I request the Jamaica Building if I will have to pay for a preferred room? Thanks

I know that the Preferred locations are Martinique buildings 24, 25, 26 and Trinidad North 31,32,33, but what it the next best buildings to request that are non -preferred. Looking for close to opr and a bus stop. Any recommendations??

pirate:are there any height requirements (ie can not exceed a certain height) to use the kiddie pool with the pirate ship? My DS5 is pretty tall for his age but I think he'd love it and probably want his 9 yo brother with him at least some. We'll be at CBR Oct 27-Nov 2. Thanks!

Are the mugs the same as last years design? Thanks!! We are excited to stay here for our first time!!

thanks for sharing. I'm glad you enjoyed the CBR. We are going for the first time in August. :)

Thanks for the info!

You're welcome! :goodvibes

Martinique 22, Aruba 51, and Jamaica 45 are the closest non-preferred rooms to OPR.

I'm not sure. . . I know when we were there, there were kids of all ages and sizes in it. Plus lots of adults! I think at one time someone posted that there was an age or size restriction but I don't think it is really enforced unless there are some unruly bigger kids.

I noticed in my reservation that it's marked for "preferred room" I didn't ask for a preferred room when I booked but if it's good to have and I am already budgeted for that price then I'll keep it. I have arthritis and had minor knee surgery in January. I'm working on walking more and more but I'm thinking location might actually be important enough to me to keep the preferred. Any thoughts and if I do keep it - any recommendations for room requesting?
