I can't wait until Monday, so I book my trip for Free Dining!!! I'm going back to CBR!!!! I'm so excited to go and enjoy the pool in the summer and not my usual Dec. trek!!!!

Thank you safetymom, mickeystoontown and Stac1023!! I made the switch to CBR and requested Jamaica. Thanks again for your help!! I appreciate it! :goodvibes

You're quite welcome! Hopefully, your request of Jamaica will be granted. If not, don't be disappointed because the entire resort is gorgeous!

Lucky! I wish we could take advantage of free dining but I'd have to take our child our of school the first week! Can't do that, especially since he will be attending a new school. Oh well, congrats!

My request for Jamaica or Aruba was not granted...but we ended up being very happy in Barbados. In my 6 stays at CBR I have had Barbados 3 times even though I always requested another location. I wonder if I stop requesting will I get Jamaica again.....

How is Shutters for dinner? we are going to eat their on our arrival night. We always like to eat at the resort we are staying at and veg out/unpack.
The menu looked decent....just curious on reviews...

We do the same thing. I have not found a lot of reviews for Shutters and what I did find was mostly negative. The menu looks fine to us so I think we will give it a try, but I would love reviews or pictures from anyone who has them.

One night we tried to get in without an ADR and we couldn't so someone is dining there!

We ate there our first night at CBR back in February and it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. I had chicken that was awful, dry and had some too sweet sauce on it. My mom and husband both got steaks that they liked alright. Nothing remarkable. I wouldn't eat there again.

We fly all day to get to WDW and we usually are at dinner around 7ish...but maybe I will consider a little trip over to downtown disney for Fultons???;););)

We are booked at CBR for AUGUST 20-28th. How can I list or request a building preference? When I booked there was not an open space to put any type of room requests?
I would like to request TN 3100 building, we did book a preferred room and seeing as it seems many people do not like TN I am hoping it will be granted if I can figure out how to specify.
Thanks for your help!
Oh and if anyone else is going Aug 20-28 give me a shout.:woohoo:

I ate there once on my solo trip last December. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the herb crusted prime rib and it was delish! The service was good too. I will not hesitate to eat there again.:thumbsup2

we have 5 weeks till our trip to CBR!!! can't wait for it to get here..... :goodvibes just excited and wanted to share with everyone

Hi everyone! We just booked a 10 day stay at CBR, June 5-15, and I am so excited!

We have previously stayed at POR and one feature I liked about our rooms there was that there was a clothesline that you could pull across the tub area to hang up wet bathing suits. After looking at pictures of the refurbished rooms at CBR, I see that the tile in the bathtubs has been covered over. I'm guessing there is no clothes line anymore??

We booked on the 4/3 deal and all that was left was waterview. Would that be any of the villages then? I was thinking that it could be anywhere with a pool or lake view.

I'm really enjoying reading through this thread and others with all the great info and photos! Thanks!

Ten days at the CBR is perfect! That's how many days we usually stay. This gives you a couple of days to just laze around the resort.

We were in a brand new refurbed room this past August and the clothesline was in the bathroom.

I beileve that all of the villages offer water views. All of the villages are very pretty so you should be happy no matter what building you are assigned to.

Thanks for the info about the clothesline.

This will be our longest stay! We've only done 8 days before. I'm really looking forward to exploring this resort. My daughter and I wanted to stay here when we visited in early December, but my mother wanted to go to POR again so that is what I booked. This time dh will be coming with my daughter and me. This is his first visit. He's not into it like my dd and I are, lol. I keep telling him he will have a good vacation and to trust me. It will be really nice to mix in lots of pool time with visiting the parks. I told him he can go take a nap in a hammock on the beach!

The refurb'd Nemo rooms look really nice. DD wanted a Pirate room but I didn't want to spend the extra, I didn't really want to be in Trinidad South, and I told her daddy's feet would not be able to hang off the end of the bed with the "boat" in the way!!

Actually, dd doesn't even know that I booked it. We've been talking about going again and I've been asking her opinion, but she informed me a few weeks ago that if we go again she wants to be surprised!! So....I have to keep it a secret now!!!! This is gonna be tough!

is there any way to get to a grocery store from CBR if you don't have a car? would we have to call a taxi, or do the busses go where there are grocery stores in the area(are there grocery stores in downtown disney?)?

thanks in advance! :goodvibes

There is a Hess gas station with a quick shop attached. According to the Disney bus drivers, the Hess market has the cheapest prices on Disney property. I believe it is across from Downtown Disney, you take the Downtown Disney bus. A family with a young child did a Hess shopping run, they had a lot of bags of various stuff they brought on the bus.
