We will be staying here for the first time in two weeks. We wanted to know what room requests to make. We have a non-smoking water view room. We want to be as close to the food court and pool as possible. My six year old wanted to know if they have a good arcade? In advance, THANKS!
;) ;) ;)

We stayed in Martinique. It was an extremely short walk to the food court. The arcade was o.k., although my children are so young (6 and 3 at the time) that it didn't matter. Since you paid for water view, I guess it depends on if you want to see the pool or the lake. This summer we have requested lake view room. I also know that Jamaica and Trinidad North are close. Have a great vacation.

If you're looking for a room that's close to Old Port Royale, then Martinique 25 is the way to go. The arcade is fun for the 10-13 year old set, but younger kids may be overwhelmed.

Last Easter we stayed at the CBR, the one closest to POR.

It was great! Close proximity to bus stop, the food court, pool, both main pool and Martinique's. After spending half a day at the parks would go back for a quick dip and then head back into parks. The best part was when DD10, was so tired, the walk back to the room was a hop skip and a jump! I even appreciated it! There is also a beach area right in front and sitting in the hammocks was nice! I don't know if the arcade will be the same 'cause they just recently refurbished the entire restaurant area. Can't wait to go back home!

It a very family friendly resort.

We love it.

We stayed at CBR the last to times we visited (July & March 02) and loved it. We have stayed at Aurba and Jamacia and were fairly close to pool and food court. We are staying there again this Easter. I requested a fridge this time. I feel you really need one.
My kids always enjoy the arcade. ages 9,12,14
Have Fun!!!!

I went last April and stayed in Martinique building 25. The lake and a hammock were right outside my door. The pool and food court were a very short walk away and the bus stop was right across the parking lot.

Not bad at all.

Cara.

Does anyone know which buildings are non-smoking.? We will also be there for Easter and are thinking of requesting either Aruba or Jamaica if they are non-smoking.

I am taking this information from the Passporter Book's map. From what I can tell about smoking buildings, Martinique 21, Barbados 21, Aruba 51, Jamaica none, Trinidad South none and Trinidad North 31. Does this mean the whole building or a section, I think you might want to call. When I was there I was in Martinique 25 and there were people smoking outside of their rooms even though this is not listed as a smoking building. Also one more note, I noticed that on the other thread concerning the New OPR, that someone said that the door closest to the Martinique building said exit only. You may not or may not be able to enter from that door, making the walk from Martinique only slightly longer (30 seconds) no big deal there!:) I hope this helps.

I agree... Martinique is the way to go. Stay away from Trinidad South! It is very far away from Old Port Royale, especially when you've been walking at the parks all day long.

Disnee Dad Says.........................................I rarely say a bad word about anything, but we stayed CBR, in a non smokeing room, and you could still smell smoke residue. The food court had weird hours, the breakfast places were not open at the stated times. Overfull garbage cans. It took two hours to get our bags. I'd rather stay at All Star Movies, which was great, or or at another moderate I would pick Dixie Landings, stayed there three times, always wonderful!

We are here at CBR right now. The door in OPR closest to Martinque is locked. You walk a very short distance and then you can get in the building. We are staying in bldg. 25. Very close to OPR.

Thanks everyone. I will request either Martinique or Jamaica for my trip..

Disneedad, thanks for the heads up but we have alrerady stayed at Dixie landing and loved it and now my son really wants to try out this pool.

Just be forwarned, the pool is not as big as the pictures imply!

I was surprised at actually how small it was.
