Hi CBR lovers! I was wondering if you could please help me out. DH and I are staying at CBR this May for the Expedition Everest Challenge. We will not have a car, so we will be relying on Disney's bus service exclusively. Could someone please shed some light on where in CBR is the best location to request to be as close as possible to the buses? I'd like to be close to the main building as well, but it's more important to us to be close to the bus stop. Does CBR have building names/numbers or something that I can put in my reservation request? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi Mjaclyn, I've stayed at and enjoyed CBR many times; it's a lovely resort. Each village has it's own bus stop. Old Port Royal (OPR), the main building where the shops and restaurants are also has it's own bus stop. The villages closest to OPR are Martinique and Trinidad North. They are considered to be 'preferred sites' and cost a little more. I hope this helps. Enjoy CBR and good luck with your challenge! :thumbsup2

Agreed! Here's a link to a google map which shows the resorts and their numbers which can help with the reservation! http://g.co/maps/zudyw *shameless plug - I did this for Google :) * enjoy, I love CBR! :)

Yep, you'll be pretty close to a bus stop no matter where you stay. While the two mentioned above are "preferred" I recommend you request Jamaica 45. It's not preferred so it's cheaper and it's actually almost just as close as the other two villages, just across the bridge from OPR. Also that building is equally close to both the Jamaica bus stop and the neighboring village (I can't remember the name right now) so you can get off at whichever stop comes first. (Depending on which park you go to, you enter CBR a different way so first/last stops vary.)

Thanks for the tip about Jamaica 45, I am a little worried about how big the resort is, we would also like to be closer to the pool and main building, I really don't want to have to take a bus to the main pool. Do have a 2nd best choice after Jamaica 45 so I can put two options on the reservation request? Thanks so much!

COOL!!! :thumbsup2 Stayed at CBR June '11 (LOVED IT!!!) This map gives a new perspective & reminded me how much we enjoyed CBR! :lovestruc

Agree with everyone of the sections and buildings! The bus system has always been really good for us, never really long waits. The resort is large but thats what we love about it, because you dont feel so tightly squeezed like other resorts and the walk isnt bad at all! We have done the walk from the futherest Island ( Trinadad South) last year and it was like a 6-8 min walk. The landscaping is so pretty to look at that you forget and before you know it your @ Old Port Royale! :thumbsup2

Pay for a preferred room. I wish we had done this. We were pretty far from the main pool and food court and it made it seem like we were not staying at a resort.

I checked availability for the dates we'll be going and unfortunately there are no Preferred rooms. There are Standard Rooms, Water View (+$79), King Bed (+$79), and Pirate rooms (+$95-$173 depending on view). Right now we are booked in a Standard view. Honestly, I don't see us eating at the CBR Food Court for that many meals because we aren't huge fans of it. We'll probably eat one morning at Kona Cafe and the other mornings just grab something quick at the parks.

IMO, you don't need a preferred room location. If you are anywhere in Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 you will have a lovely, under 5 minute, stroll over to the pool and OPR. It would be a good idea for you to call the main reservation number and add those requests to your reservation.

FYI, the farthest location from OPR and the Main Pool is Trinidad South. From the farthest point of Trini South, it is an 8 minute walk to OPR and the Main Pool. The only rooms in Trinidad South are the Pirate rooms, so you don't have to worry about that. Really the size of the resort is one of it's strong points, IMO. It never feels crowded. Enjoy!!

I would recommend asking for any of the buildings in Jamaica. We have stayed at the CBR 6 years in a row with three of those being in Jamaica. Our walk to OPR (main pool, food court, etc.) from the furthest building in Jamaica was about 5 minutes at a leisurely pace.

Don't do the pirate rooms! While they are cool, they are also the farthest away!! All in all, its not that bad of a walk if you walk inside around the lake. But I would still request Jamaica. Also keep checking back everyday, a preferred room might just pop up!! Make sure to bring your bathing suits! this is my favorite pool!!!

We just returned from CBR yesterday. :cool1:

Gorgeous resort, and because it is soooo large, it never felt crowded at all....even though we were in the midst of spring break crowds!

Preferred rooms were booked for out stay. The closest we could get was Aruba 52 which was about a 5 minute walk across the bridge and about a 2-3 minute walk to the bus stop. Next time we will be sure to request a preferred room earlier. After a long day in the parks, paying the extra money will be worth it for us.
