My parents are joining us for part of our trip in Dec, so we've decided to upgrade to the CBR. Trouble is, we need two first floor rooms, nonsmoking, and it would be ideal if they were connecting and close to Port Royale. I know that's being VERY picky, but my DD uses a stroller as wheelchair, my mom is physically unable to do stairs/long distances (and I'm the only other adult for most of the time, so can't push a wheelchair and the stroller) and she is starting to have memory problems (getting lost, etc) so I need her nearby to keep an eye on her while my dad is at meetings.

Am I asking too much? Does anyone know if it's OK to write CBR a letter beforehand detailing the reasons for the requests? I couldn't remember if they still take faxes.

TIA for any tips/advice!

I would have the requests noted in your reservation. They aren't looking at faxes anymore. To be real close to the food court and main pool are preferred locations costing extra nightly so doubt you would be put there unless it is a very slow season of the year.

I forget the term but there is a dept. at WDW called I think special services. You might want to talk with them about your needs while staying at CBR. They would probably be able to do more for you than the regular room assigner.

Make sure all requests are noted on your ressie, especially the health reasons. You will pay extra for a preferred room location. Also remember that requests cannot always be honored, but they will do their best to accomodate you. Hope you have a great time. :flower:

On our last trip we requested first floor, non-smoking, connected rooms and that is what we got. I think that if you make your request and are willing to wait to get your specific requests met that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I think it would help if you are not going during a busy time also.

If you post over on the disAbilabties section, someone will most likely be able to give you the number for request for special needs rooms.

You mentioned you daughter is in a wheelchair/stoller item. Does she need a roll in shower or special grab bars? People over in the disAbilities section might be able to give you some better suggestions and information about wheel chair access rooms as well.
