It's been many years since we've stayed there, but I recall that it used to be that if you weren't in the first building, buses were often full before they reached you and you had to wait a lot longer for a bus in the morning. Is that still true? If so, what is the order of the buildings along the route. Friends are going down and I want to tell them which building to request. I seem to recall Martinique was the first building but I could be remembering wrong.

If the bus enters the front gate, then Martinique is the first stop and Barbados the last.

If the bus enters the back gate, then Jamaica is the first stop, and S. Trinidad is the last stop.

It is possible at times that the bus may be full when it gets to your stop - early morning, dinner time, etc. - or when a particular park bus is running late to the resort.

We normally stay during less crowded times (Dec., May, Sept.) and usually do not ever have a problem with getting a seat going to the park - returning is a different story when leaving a park at closing time.

Thanks. Do buses typically enter both gates, or is one more common than the other?

Also, is Martinique the building closer to the main building with the restaurants?

When we were there in Dec. we only encountered 1 bus that was really loaded and we made the mistake of getting on it. But the other buses were ok, and they came somewhat frequently so there wasn't too much trouble getting on a bus. There were some days that there seemed to be only 1 bus every 30 minutes or so to MGM.

I can't figure out their pattern. Last stay (12/06), we were in Jamaica and we couldn't predict which bus was going to come from which gate.

I can say however, that I have noticed over last couple of trips more buses entering the back gate versus several years ago when most seemed to enter front gate.

N. Trinidad is on one side of OPR, Martinique is on the other side (with the closest bldgs). However, all the bldgs. are spread out so the furthest bldg. in Martinique out from OPR is still a nice walk. Across the bridge from OPR is Jamaica and Aruba, however some of those bldgs. are spread apart so you could still have a little walk to get to the bridge.

In August we were stuck at the back gate 2x trying to enter the resort and stuck at S.Trinidad on the way back from DTD (a terrible bus experience on a normal day)because the bus doors wouldn't close. Both times the people waiting at the stop were  or more like :furious: It was a busy park time and I was very disapointed with the CBR buses compared to Pop or AKL.

ETA: Sorry that wasn't helpful! We were in Jamaica and most of the time the buses came from the back entrance and we were first on and off. Maybe about 90% of the time.
