Our last full day! Wahhh. Emma didnt want anything from the food hall today, so I took my mug over with a teabag and bought 4 slices of bread which I toasted and brought back to the room.
We decided to take the car over today we were fed up with waiting for buses. We popped into Custom House where they got her band working. Turns out the problem was caused by MK who didnt do it properly! We had a nice little chat with the guys who were sorting it out, and they gave me a little red pirate teddy! Awww.
It really didnt take too long to get to Epcot, and I parked in row four, a stones-throw from the park entrance.
There was a heck of a queue at the gate, though they didnt have nearly enough gates open, and nearly everyone had the plastic cards and were having trouble getting through the gates. They really need to have an entrance just for people with Magic Bands.
We made our way straight up to The Land where we checked the times for Soarin and Living With the Land. Soarin was a 90-minute wait, which was awkward as it meant wed be caught slap bang in the middle of our FPs, so we didnt bother. Emma wanted to do the World Showcase, but the problem was that we wouldnt get very far before having to come back for our TestTrack FP. So, I persuaded her to have an early lunch at Sunshine Seasons; she had the salmon this time and then a Whoopie pie. I was boring and had the salmon followed by the strawberry shortcake again. Simply delish. You've already seen mine, so here's the full deal with the salsa, and the Whoopie pie (which Emma said got sickly after a while).
That took us to our FP for Living with the Land. This time I videoed most of it.
After this we went round to TestTrack. It took longer this time, but at least my car went into the system. I couldnt get the shape I wanted it was playing silly buggers. Still my car won on economy, getting a final score of 197. Emma got 211, I think. The days winner was 224, so it wasnt really that far ahead of us.
We went round the World Showcase to China, to pick up where we left off on 12th. The two days couldnt be more different the sun was really shining today.
We decided to watch China 360°, but it left us both a bit giddy. Emma was annoyed because she had missed Mulan.
From China we walked round, and at Germany we saw Snow White just going in for a break. Emma insisted on waiting to meet her (there would be a 25-minute wait). We got in the queue and then I went round to the Caramel shop to get us some snacks. There was a bit of a queue in there, but I got some Werthers caramel popcorn for me and a caramel-drizzled peanut butter cookie for Emma on snack credits, getting back just as the queue was moving again. Snow White was really sweet. She came forward to meet people from the front of the queue and take them to her well. Emma had some good interaction with her.
After that, we just walked round. Weve never been in the US pavilion, and while we didnt want to watch the 25-minute film, we were told that the a cappella singers were about to come out and sing, and we went inside to wait and watch them. They were excellent vocalists.
As we were coming out, a man came over to me and asked me where I was from. He then told me there was an urgent call for me and took me over to a special phone. It was Goofy wishing me a happy birthday! I let Emma listen to some of it, too.
We continued walking round.
We caught a bit of Off Kilter at Canada theyre really good, but we didnt have time to mess around as we had to start thinking of getting over to the Contemporary for dinner.
Emma stopped off and used her last snack credit on a croissant donut which was really nice and a drink.
The queue for Mary Poppins and Alice was way too long, so we had to leave that. We had a quick look round the back of the UK pavilion and then headed for the exit.
Having asked advice in one of the shops, I drove over to the Contemporary rather than take the monorail over to the TTS and then get the ferry to MK and then walk round to the hotel. There was a little confusion over where to park, but we found a disabled bay right by the entrance (I think it was a valet spot, but so what!) As we went in, I asked whether it would be okay to stay parked there and go back over to MK after dinner, which they confirmed was fine.
We didnt wait too long for Chef Mickey. We had a good table, too - an end table close to the buffet and characters were already coming round even as we sat down.
Minnie loved Emma's designer ears!
I think we saw three in quick succession. The chef came to see Emma, and it turned out that there was actually very little she couldnt eat, so she was happy.
I got salmon, turkey, broccoli with cheese sauce and a baked potato for my first go. The second round wasnt a lot different. The desserts were a bit disappointing, to be honest. I didnt fancy anything chocolate. I tried a Mickey Dome, but the texture was horrible. The cheesecake was too dense, and the key lime pie was a bit odd. I also had some soft-serve ice cream with various toppings.
