I posted this in the Community Board but thought it would work here as well. Thank you to the two people who have responded to date!

Hi there.
I am a graduate student in biology and am beginning to think about the future. Just recently- I don't know why it took so long- I began to think about a job at Disney. Maybe at Epcot Living with the Land or at Animal Kingdom doing research of some kind.
Has any worked there, or know anyone that has? I didn't do the intern program in college - didn't know they could do the science thing. That is all I can find information on. Currently there are no job postings on disneycareers.com so I am having trouble just getting basic info about what you would/could do and possible salary.
Thanks!!!

I can only address this from my daughters perspective. She did the college program in her senior year of college and us being the Disney fans that we are, she came home and graduated from college with a degree in computer sciences. She then decide to move to Florida and give Disney a try for one year. Sadden us to see her move so far, but we got to visit her 3 times in that year. Back to the subject, there are very little openings in the higher ranks in the Disney organization. Its almost like no matter what your field, you will start out and stay on the low end of the wage scale. She got in an area to use her college skills but saw no real advancement to a higher paying position. Expenses in Kissimmee are not cheap, I don't know how most people live there on minimum wages while working at Disney, but they do have good bennies. Needless to say, that after the one year try out, she returned to her home state and got an excellent job, in her field, monetary equal to her degree with many advancements. I give her credit for making a stab at it, she can look back and have no regrets and we still go to Disney together.
