I can't help but wonder what percentage of BLT has sold out so far? Anyone care to guess? Does anyone know how many points they will sell? Also, any thoughts on how the economy will effect sales?

Thanks.

Well, we were in Disney this past week and went to SSR to see the BLT models. While we were in there, I overheard a DVC salesperson telling some prospective buyers that they were still eligible for the name plaque at BLT. I know that you have to be one of the first 1000 people to buy in at 160 points, so that tells you that not that many people have done that yet.

Also, when we were leaving the models, we were told that they still had not been released to the general public yet, only DVC members.

When we were there on Monday, I was told there were less than 100 spots left for the plaque.

They haven't even scratched the surface of points yet. Anybody know how many units they even declared for the roll-out? I bet it was less than a dozen at MOST.

There's a LOT of points per unit, folks. It's gonna take a LONG time (especially in this economy) to sell these millions of points.

I'm kinda curious why the question? It sounds like you may be believing that it's a significant percentage.

If I had to ask my crystal ball, I think it would guess < 1/4 of 1% at this point and I think that is WAY too much. It's probably actually closer to 1/10 of 1%. Insignificant, IMHO. You asked. :)

BLT has over SIX MILLION points to sell. If they sold 900 of the 1000 founder bricks, that's a minimum of 144,000 points or 2% of all the points.

Just curious. With all the excitement about BLT, I guess I thought it would be a lot.

Six million? I had NO idea. Thanks for the information.

My calculations also show close to 6.5 million points; I also have been looking for the number of units in the original declaration if anyone has it. Rough numbers are about 20k points per 2br equivalent. Since we have not seen any new declarations it is safe to say that they have not even sold out the first set of points which from memory was not that many units.

I was thinking the same thing about the amount of declared units. as of this morning when I searched the orange county comptrollers website the only untis declared were unit 2A and 2B back around 9/10/08. I believe it only equaled 3 two bedrooms.

According to my BLT documents, specifically page 10 of the Time-Share Plan Disclosures, Part II there are exactly 5,732,687 points available for BLT. This is made up of 14 Grand Villas, 120 dedicated two-bedrooms, and 147 lock-off two-bedrooms for a total of 281 vacation home units.

As for actual sales, this is my guess: in addition to the 900 sales of 160 point minimum contract add-ons, I think they have sold twice as many 50-100 point contracts. I also think at least 10% of those 900 sales were 200-350 point contracts. Therefore, based upon very rough and round computing this would be about 300,000 of the 5,732,687 points sold or about 5% sold.

You asked for a guess, and this is mine!

I wonder if financing is going to be a problem since banks are really tightening the reins and loans, credit cards, mortgages, etc. are becoming harder to get approved.

Thanks for the estimates. I had wanted to buy my 56 point add-on as soon as they became available. My CPA hubby said there was no rush, we could wait until we go in Dec. Now because of the stock market nightmare, he wants to wait even longer because he does not think they are going to sell out all that quickly. From reading previous posts, I was thinking we were going to miss the opportunity, but I guess maybe he is right, after all. It's killing me to wait!

Your number is close to mine except that the total unit quoted by guides seams to be 2br equivalent only. I did a floor-by-floor count based on the available drawings and pictures and came up with 295 2br and the 14 GVs were over and above that. The only real area of variance was in the Atrium area in the first few floors where I went by external pictures to get make those adjustments. I had 14 lock off and 18 dedicated for SV, 64 lock off and 139 dedicated for LV, and 20 lock off and 40 dedicated for MKV.
I guess we will see which is correct as they are declared.

By the way my floor count was 9,18,18,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,22,4 from the first floor to the 15 floor for the 2brs and all GVs are on the 15 and 16h floor.

Also with 3 rooms per floor declared and all floors were included for this block (this was not clear from the filling) that would be about 44 or 45 rooms so somewhere about 912,200 points or about 13%. So they might well have enough points declared already to get through the year.

If the guesses here are close, sales of 5% in so short a time doesn't sound so bad. But I don't have any comparisons. How did AKV and SSR fare in the first few weeks of sales? Or is there a good base for comparison?

Well, this changes things. I was afraid they were going to sell-out before I made-up my mind about an add-on.

How hard do you think it'll be to get a studio for 1 night in Dec '09? I really think I want to add-on , but I'd really like to stay there at least once before I do. We're planning a trip for Dec '09 I was hoping I could get in then.

I talked to my guide today about BLT. We said we wanted to wait on it due to the economy and the fact there is no real benefit to buying now. He was very cordial about it and said that a lot of people were doing the same thing. Vague I realize, however the financial times we are in are in fact impacting DVC sales.

My humble opinion is that is will take 2 years minimum to sell BLT out.
