Making our Christmas cards & I planned on using glitter. DH says he hates receiving cards with glitter on them because its messy & gets everywhere. Guess I'll be changing our cards a little bit.

How about you? Do you mind the glitter?
Poll coming.

I have two craft-loving DDs, so my house is constantly covered in glitter. I probably wouldn't even notice a little more. :lmao:

Maybe you could use a little glitter glue. It gives you the sparkle without shedding like traditional glue and loose glitter does.

Sent out pics of my DS7 last year in his Saints uniform . Used gold glitter glue on it , got lots of compliments on my cards. I say go for it !!

I have a non-dis approved name for glitter that a friend passed along. Let's just say it's not pretty.

I don't mind glitter personally, but that might be because I just like sparkly things! I really don't care for confetti in cards, though! My kids got a card with confetti inside it when they were really little, and it was a HUGE mess to clean up. (I know you didn't ask about that, but it seemed relevant when I started typing, lol...)

I am also a card maker, and used Art Institue glitter and glue for the bows on the packages that were on a sleigh. Other times I will use Stickles, which if you aren't familiar with this, it is a glitter glue, which comes in many different colors.

There are also good "glittery" pens, like Stardust glitter pens, which are also fun for some accents.

As with most things in card making...it is all about the adhesive!!!

Glitter ON the card is fine there is a special place for the folks who just put it loose in the envelope!!!

Glitter is great! Just not all over my floor, with my 2 year old tracking through it. :lmao: I prefer glitter glue. :goodvibes

Love glitter for the holidays and I've never rec'd a decorated C'mas card that I regretted opening. :santa:

Glitter cards are pretty, but no matter how good the glue, some of the glitter remains on my hands and eventually finds its way onto my face. Ever try to remove a speck of glitter from your eye? Ugh!

This.

I had a bad experience with a piece of mail with mylar confetti (just as bad as glitter) during my first college internship - the stuff was in an invitation and when I opened it, it fell all over my desk, all over me and all over the floor. I was horrified; it was a giant mess that I had to clean up. I stood up over a trash can and shook off most of the confetti pieces; swept what was on the desk into a trash can, then picked the pieces off the floor ONE AT AT TIME. The non profit who sent that made an impression, alright . . . a REALLY bad one.

I like the look of glitter, but the reality is that it gets everywhere, on everything and everyone, and it sticks around.

I do like the way it looks but I'm not a big fan of the mess it makes. :headache:
