Cards & Pockets Adhesive...

Sorry for another Cards & Pockets question. But I'm putting my invites together this afternoon and need to know what adhesive is best for embellishments/papers etc...

I had a devil of a time with that. I started out with the roll on adhesive tape roll things, but they kept leaving big gaps without adhesive. Then I tried a regular glue stick and that was awful! I wound up finishing most things with regular double sided tape. It wasn't great but it worked. I'd love to see what else other people did that might be better.

I used double sided glue dots (they were just brought in packs of 80 and you just peeled the paper off each side of the dot)
They worked perfectly!!!

Hey Meg... I used spray adhesive for the cardstock onto the matte (and the matte onto the pocketfold). I used a mini glue gun for my ribbon. Trust me on the spray adhesive, it's messy but it's awesome and it will STICK!!!

Glue Dots or Zots (brand names of adhesive dots) are awesome and won't leave those strings that a glue gun leaves. I LOVE glue guns for my scrapbooking projects but I just wouldn't want to deal w/that on my invites (as I sit here putting them together at the moment...).

Look into contact cement. You paint one side on the thing you want to stick, paint the thing you want to stick it to, wait for it to dry... Presto! Another bonus is that you can then rub off the excess glue, it comes right off and looks like eraser dust. This is we used to do all our professional mounting when I did design work, so I figured it was good for invites!

Tombo adhesive tape runners are the only thing I used before I got my big ATG. But, I'm a scrapbooker so it was worth the expense.

thanks girls! Im going to the craft store today so I can start putting together tonight!! I love the contact cement idea!! I haven't used that since grade school! lol..but I remember how awesome it was! (and how strong it smelled lmao)

Tracy~ Ive never seen spray adhesive! Ive done a lot of scrapbooking and have never seen that! lol...im going to go find some today!

I am not a Disney Bride, but I made all of my invites for our wedding last weekend! I used double sided tape that I ordered from uline.com. It was the cheapest I could find and it worked GREAT!

Tombo adhesive tape runners are the only thing I used before I got my big ATG. But, I'm a scrapbooker so it was worth the expense.

That is all I'm using too. I just went and bought a ton during a sale at ac moore since I know it will take alot. Like she said, it was a little more expensive but it was super easy to use and has held super strong. I used the permenent, but was still able to reposition if I messed up, and even after that the glue still held.
