I think if she said, "I don't want to swipe my drivers license, so I left the store without making my purchase because I disagreed with their policy," this wouldn't be that long of a thread.
The entitlement issue comes into play when someone asserts that they shouldn't be required to do something that is part of a (legal) company policy because they don't want to, or that the company is in some way wrong about having such a policy because it requires the person to do something that the person doesn't want to do.
