Card on file at check in

Hi there!

I searched and found a thread about cc authorization holds but couldn't find an exact answer to my question.... we are going all cash on this trip since room/tickets are all paid in advance. We won't be charging back to our room at all during our stay.

Do we HAVE to provide a cc upon check in or can we just turn off charging privledges?

We've always done a card in the past but not this time.

Right. I put a card on file, just to do on line check in. I have no plans at all of using it to charge back to the room.

My trip a few weeks ago, I had a card on file & I did online check-in maybe 6 days before my stay. Two days before my arrival I called the main # & paid my entire room balance over the phone with gift cards. During my 8 days, I paid for every single purchase at the time & point of sale. I billed nothing back to the room. My card was on file the entire time & never saw one charge.

I had a cc on file in April but due to the holds I never charged back to my room. The only charge applied was the $100 and then on day 5 it was released and a new one put on day 6. Both were reversed within a day or two. You can have them remove it when you get there.
