Has anyone actually tried these things? Do they really work?

Hi Joe! I've never had any personal experience with them, but when the whole "FDA nixes Ephedra" thing came out a few weeks ago, The Today Show (or some morning show--I believe it was Today) had an M.D. on who spoke about various diet "scams" and I do remember him mentioning carb blockers, and how they didn't work. Maybe someone here may be able to offer you personal advice or a different opinion. I just remember being bummed because I'm such a carb addict.

My Dr. used to tell me he would kill me himself if I ever tried any of those miracle diet pills. They don't work and most of them are dangerous to your long-term health. This was before the whole phen-fen fiasco so I have always taken his advice on diet pills to heart. Diet & excercise for me! :D

I think it really depends on what brand it is, what it's made of, etc. I've tried them (I don't have the bottle with me, so I can't tell you what's in mine), and I have a physician-friend who has tried them and said that he would use them occassionally, but he wouldn't make a regular habit of using them, so I follow his advice on that.

I only use them once in a while when I eat something high in carbs. I don't believe they help in terms of losing weight, but it seems to help at least with maintenance.
