Caramel butter bar

I am very bummed I missed that at WDW, can't wait to go back now that I've gotten my first WDW trip out of the way.

I second the churro toffee. I am bringing a Tupperware container on my trip to get it all home. I freeze it and then eat a little bit when I need to close my eyes and pretend I'm at DL.

Thank you. I was just googling it. So they are kind of like pop tarts. What do you think makes them so good?

They are NOTHING like Pop Tarts. They are like the best shortbread cookie you've ever had filled with the freshest tasting jam. They are amazing. Considering you seem to be a fan of shortbread, you should really enjoy these. And to be clear, these are FAR better than the hand pies sold at WDW at Woodys Lunch box, if you have ever tried those.

They are just the perfect treat right now. A lot of the other things are just sweet and don't have particularly strong flavors otherwise. It's just sugary and one note. These are unique.

I have not had one of the ones at Woody's. Looking at the pictures they do look to have a nice cookie type of shell. Thank you. I have added it to the list.

I do just want to also say, I HATE actual pie. These are inappropriately named, IMO. They do not taste like pie at all. They are not flaky and the crust is sweet like a shortbread cookie.

So a cookie would be a better description? Have any other favorites there besides the usual ones?

I think a filled cookie is a better description, yes. It even has frosting on it.

I do like the chocolate marshmallow wands. Those are consistently good. I am a fan of the Raspberry Rose Macaron at the Jolly Holiday Bakery. That one is a love it or hate it treat. I love it. I typically like all the specialty macarons as well. They are usually pretty solid. Also, you HAVE to try a Matterhorn Macaroon (the coconut kind of macaroon). It's very good, and also fairly cheap! It's a 2 person job to finish one. It's very dense and rich.

The brownie "pies" (again with the pie thing) are also very good.

The very best treat at the candy shops is the bagged PEANUT BRITTLE. It is seriously amazing. It's a Disneyland specialty!

Thank you for the suggestions. I will be sure to check them out. Really wish I could have the peanut brittle but I can't. Which makes me so sad. I have diverticulosis and can't have nuts. It sucks. Our last trip we went to Jolly Holiday for a little breakfast treat. Very good and we sat at the tables and really enjoyed the ambience and view. The best part was Cruella DeVil being driven up the street and yelling at people to get out of her way lol.

My two favorite treats are the Matterhorn Macaroons and the gingerbread Mickey cookies. They've downgraded the Mickey cookies every year, though. They used to be full body with white chocolate buttons and chocolate ears, but now they're a Mickey head with frosted ears, but they're still delicious. There is another Mickey gingerbread cookie that's darker and full bodied. I personally prefer the Mickey head.

I've not yet had a chance to try the hand pies, but I'm looking forward to it.

This is the way! My biggest regret is that I only brought home 2 pieces!

My daughter just said she had one of the raspberry rose macaron when we were there and she loved it but it was messy and stained her hands lol. She had to go and wash them.

The raspberry rose macarons are delish (and yes can stain), but so worth it. They also have almond flour for the macaron part so I mention it because you said you have a nut allergy (allergy mom here, can only get them when I’m not with my kids!)

As someone who is not a sweets person *at all* I adore the churro toffee. And churros in general. Did you even go to Disneyland if you didn’t get a churro!?! Far superior to WDW (actually just back from WDW and could not bring myself to get a sub-par churro). 🤣

Not sure when you are going (my brain is mush ATM) but there is usually a fun cart in the GCH that has seasonal treats.

I actually don't have a nut allergy and can eat stuff that contain nuts like peanut butter etc but can't eat whole nuts or seeds. We do like the churros at DL. My daughter really likes the special ones with all the stuff on them. We are going at the end of February so not sure what they would have on the fun cart but we can look for it. Thank you!

I understand the disappointment. I was devastated on my first trip to WDW to discover that there is NOWHERE to get a tigger tail (my favourite DL treat). I don't even care that much for marshmallows and I love those things. Try one from the candy shop by Winnie the Pooh ride at DL.

Back in 2017 they had blackberry Mickey beignets that stained me for hours after I was done eating no matter how many times I washed my hands and face 😂. I empathize!

Oh they area cute!

Another thing I'm thinking about is that amazing bread pudding at Storytellers restaurant at GC. I don't think we will be able to afford to eat there this time but I really want some of the bread pudding!!!

Oh, you are in luck my friend. The Pacific Wharf Cafe at DCA always has a seasonal bread pudding and it's always FANTASTIC! It's served warm and everything.

Is it anything like the Jazz Kitchen bread pudding? Oh, did I love that!! I'm not sure whether or not they still have it. Last time I went, they had it but it wasn't the same. It was delicious regular bread pudding, but what they used to serve was more like a souffle and you could pour warm chocolate inside of it.
