We love the caramel butter bar that you can get in Germany in Epcot. It is a must have for us. It is one thing I'm sad about not having when we visit Disneyland. I thought I would ask just in case though if anyone knows if it is available at all in Disneyland?

Not sure, but if you like that, try the Churro toffee in DL. It's delicious!

Nothing even close.

And the churro toffee is, in my opinion, absolutely disgusting. It's too sickly sweet. The toffee is amazing, but white chocolate AND cinnamon sugar on top of that is just too sweet. I prefer the chocolate covered toffee.

You may not like the butter bar then either. It's pretty sweet. I guess we will just have to find something comparable there that we will love.

No, I love the butter bar. I think it's perfect.

Spoiler alert...it's pretty easy to MAKE the butter bar at home. All you need is a bag of Werthers Caramels (you can get them at many stores), some heavy cream, butter, sugar and flour. It's basically a shortbread base with melted Caramels mixed with heavy cream poured over top and then the remaining shortbread dough dropped in chunks over the top and baked.

DLgal, is this the recipe? Have you made it?

This recipe is not the way they make it at WDW. They don't use Condensed milk. That would make it taste more like dulce de Leche. They just pour straight Werthers caramel over the shortbread dough.

The recipe I posted above is more accurate. I include the salt because I love salted caramel, but you can omit it if you want (although I recommend leaving it in). I also leave the top dough in larger splotches than the recipe shows. I like having the exposed caramel.

Where are they?

At all the candy shops. Each one has a different flavor.

Disneyland:
Candy Palace has Strawberry
Pooh Corner has Lemon

DCA:
Trolley Treats has Blueberry (the MVP)
Bing Bongs has Raspberry (the runner up)

Downtown Disney:
Marcelines has Guava (third place)

Thank you. I was just googling it. So they look kind of like pop tarts. What do you think makes them so good?
