We will be at BLT. Could we drive to Ft. Wilderness (free parking) for the HDDR or better to take the boat? I'm guessing boat, but car might allow for faster return. Any other venues we should consider driving to?:confused3

I'd take the boat because you'd have to take the FW internal bus back to HDDR from the parking lot. The boat dock is right near there.

As for other places, it's really up to you! We drive everywhere but MK mainly for the time saving.

I agree with the previous poster with going to the dock at Contemporary and taking the boat. Nice ride and a lot more convienient.

If you have a car, I'd use it to go everywhere. It's what we always do---

Do you find that going to the MK by car is ok as compared to the busses?

Our experience is that while we don't care for busses at all, its the lesser of two evils going to the MK. Of course, if we have the time then the ferry boat ride over to the MK can be nice.

to HDDR take a boat a car will take much longer,as you park and then bus over to there anyway- to MK- we always use a bus or boat,NEVER a car....the hassle of TTC is just awful

Generally speaking driving is the way to go but in the case of FW for the HDDR it is much quicker to take the boat and even more so when you are all ready at the Contemporary. Taking the boat from the Contemporary will drop you off just a few steps from the Hall for the show. Driving would require parking in a far out lot and taking another bus and then reversing the process....much more time consuming.

We too drive everywhere as I have no patience for the WDW transportation services.

However, at Fort Wilderness you have to park out near the entrance to the campground and then take the internal shuttle back to Pioneer Hall. The boat dock is right next to Pioneer Hall. Driving to Fort Wilderness is usually never a good idea.
