Car value question

I've already decided what I'm doing in this situation, but I'm curious as to whether or not this would hurt the value of my car (DH doesn't know my decision yet-but I think he knows)

I have a car and the windowshield got damage from a rock on Monday. My window pane had symbolism for my car in multiple places. They are going to try to patch the glass (this is preferential for all parties) but I would guess that is not possible. Would replacing the glass with a plain piece of glass hurt the car? The glass with the symbols would be about $100 more.

Wouldn't regular glass be more dangerous? I thought they used safety glass for windshields these days?

Spend the extra hundred. There may be no difference in the actual glass, other than the mark, but it will decrease the value of your car.

it depends on what your talking about

rear windsield defroster replaced with regular glass, not a good idea..

Grand am with the GRAND AM across the front windshied- I dont think would matter, its a factory option

there really isnt a car made that you HAVE to get the symbol on...you can order anything from the factory- ie. with our without the words across it.

Me, I'd have my insurance pay for it, then I'd only have to pay a $50 deductible and they replace with factory original, so if it had it- they'd pay to replace with OEM parts

I meant regular without the symbol on it-You're right though. If it were regular glass in there, it would have shattered with the size of the rock that hit me! Sorry, should have been more clear.
