Anybody have any experience arranging car service on NYE morning from a MK park?

We depart Bay Lake Tower on 12/31 for a cruise and would like to leave by 9:00 AM. I've driven out from BLT on NYE morning to the AK before and have seen what the entrance to the parking lot looks like -- backed up forever.

Any thoughts on whether a car service would be able to reliably pick us up at 9 AM that morning?

Related question -- we always go to the Publix out the "back gate" of MK (take road past BLT and the back of Space Mountain to where they store the trains and monorails at night) from BLT. Do you think Disney would shut access to that road on a day like NYE? It's a pain coming back to BLT from that direction, b/c you can't turn left into the BLT parking lot, but it would be better than getting stuck in the NYE AM traffic at the MK gate.

There's also an access road that goes past Fort Wilderness and puts you inside the MK parking gate (no access to MK parking lot, but to Seven Seas Drive, WL and BLT road). Has anyone driven that on NYE morning?

Thoughts?

Well your other option is to take a cab to another resort earlier in the morning and arrange the car to pick you up there so you don't have to worry about the traffic at BLT

Hopefully, the car service would know to avoid the MK parking booths on a day like NYE and use Vista Blvd to World Drive. If I needed to drive into any of the MK resorts, including FW and WL, on Christmas Day, NYE, or New Years Day, I would go via Vista Blvd even if I had to go out of my way by 10 minutes.

Appears as though they are (rightfully) tightening security at the parks.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the road the OP first references to be more closely monitored.

I believe that Cruiseline bus transportation leaves later in the day, but an option.

The towncar services know the traffic patterns. Let them know what time you want to arrive at the port and let them coordinate things. That said, we drive to the port. I'd leave closer to 8:30 am, if not a bit earlier.

Yes -- Vista Blvd. was the other road I was thinking of. Anyone had any experience getting access to the MK area via Vista Blvd. on NYE morning?

Unless they put up a booth off of Vista Blvd somewhere the only way they can monitor traffic using Vista Blvd would be by camera or security driving the road. Fort Wilderness, Four Seasons and Golden Oaks are all located off of Vista Blvd.

that's the route i use to head to VWL or BLT. to skirt traffic. Think there used to be gate there to get to FW many years ago, but not certain.

I thought the OP was referring to the road that extends past the entrance to BLT. Have sat on balcony @ BLT and watched what i thought was cast members driving thru the area. Not sure if they man the guard house or not although others have posted here over the years they use a variation of Floridian by the GF (or World Drive but i didn't see how that was possible via the Guard house/gate) then, to Center onto Reams to eventually pick up Rt 535.

in my mind, if that area is accesible to the general public, then they need to tighten that area up, being so close to MK.

That is the first route I was talking about -- the back way out Reams Rd. to get to Publix. Where is there a guardhouse on that route? Are you talking about over near Floridian Way? Or is there one near the four way stop that is right across the RR tracks (where they store the trains and monorails at night)?

No, i'm referring to a guard housewhere world drive "ends", area between MK bus depot & BLT property (tennis court/parking lot area - north)

I haven't heard anything re a guard house from Floridian way out to 535. At least not yet. If u take the route, please come back & post, good luck.
