Car size recommendation (Alamo Car Care Center)

We arrive rather late at MCO from a transatlantic flight, so we decided to use DME instead of renting a car at the airport and then have to drive to WDW jetlagged.

So I figured it probably would be easiest to get a car from Alamo at the Car Care Center the next morning.

Not sure, what size of car we should take and what they do have available there tough.

We are a party of 4 adults and will use the car primarily to get to the parks as well as to drive to some restaurants and other attractions around Orlando. So most drives will be with minimal luggage. However, after our stay at WDW we drive to Treasure Island / St. Petersburg with all our luggage, probably 4 big suitcases, 2 smaller ones as well as some hand luggage. At the end of the vacation, we drive back from Treasure Island to MCO to drop off the car.

Was actually thinking of renting a Tesla Model X, as that one should be roomy enough to acommodate that amount of luggage, especially with 2 back rows of seats, but that gets rather pricey. Looking at other SUVs, I'm not sure if we can fit that many bags. On the other hand, a 7 or 8 persons van seems to be a bit of overkill just for the 4 of us.

Any thoughts?

Does the CCC have that???

I’ve found that something like an impala has the most trunk space for luggage, personally. SUVs just don’t tend to have that much cargo space u less you’re getting a big one. And then you can’t leave your stuff, because it’s on display in the SUV.

Would it really be easier to get a car the next morning? Especially going through DME and having to wait for your bags when you get to the resort? Disney is only a 30 min drive from MCO. I know that didn't answer your original question but it sounds like a bigger hassle to not just get a car from MCO.

Sorry, should have been more, the Tesla I would have rented through Turo, from a private owner.

I'll have a look at the Impala though.

We arrive shortly before 10PM, so we have to pick up the bags ourselves anyway, so they travel on the coach with us.

We like to get a 7 passenger minivan if we can - love having the space!

We rented from the Car Care Center last month, and rental rates were insane. I booked a midsize SUV hoping we could make it work. We got a Jeep Compass, and it was like a puzzle every time we had to pack it with our 1 big suitcase and 4 smaller suitcases for our family of 4 (and we had to keep our carryon bags on the floor at our feet). We managed to make it work, but even for the savings I wouldn't do that again on a trip when we would have so much luggage.

February was mystifying. But it was high from MCO as well.

It definitely was high from MCO too - we were going on a cruise, so our original plan was to rent from MCO. We switched to the Car Care Center because it was still insane, but less than MCO at least!
