Hi
I read the threads about various car hire companies going bust and had a near miss with Floridacarhire.com (nearly booked then didn't and just a day later saw they were no longer trading - Phew!)
Having already booked our villa with Florida Villas Direct I decided to book the car hire through them. Spoke to the guy on the phone and explained my fears and he said all the right things and explained what they offered (Dollar car playinum \ gold insurance etc...) So I booked it.
My revised itinery has arrived today from FVD and all payments are neatly laid out in a table of amount date and company! Under my car hire it says I have paid Car Shop £100 deposit.
I am basically very worried that my car hire company will go under, I was unaware I was paying a different company and whats worse is our CC was up to its limit so I used a debit card (as I previously have done to pay villa deposit) so should the worst happen my money is not protected.
Sorry for the over reacting and slightly hysterical rambling post but can offer advice, experience of using either company or words of wisdom???
Regards
Mel
