Car seats on SWA ........yes or no?

We always check out car seat as baggage, and have never had a mishap. We trust our own seat more than what might come with our rental car. Carrying the harness through the airport is much easier than lugging a huge seat.

We always check out car seat as baggage, and have never had a mishap. We trust our own seat more than what might come with our rental car. Carrying the harness through the airport is much easier than lugging a huge seat.

I believe the issue with checking car seats like luggage is that it gets tossed around, potentially causing fissures or hairline cracks in the structure of the seat that are not visible to the naked eye, but could cause product failure in the event of an accident.

For us we take our Britax on the plane and use it for our now 3.5yo. He would drive us nuts and want to be up and down and in and out of his seat. That's the main reason we take it. Yes it's a pain in the you know what to lug it through the airport, but for our peace it's definitely worth it!
