Both missing car seats made it home today via FedEx after somehow missing their flight last Saturday.

We flew home via Southwest but apparently our carseats decided to stay on and have a little more fun. :D

Southwest did issue us two loaner carseats and pay for the shipping to return them, but oddly enough....didn't apologize for losing ours. Alls well that ends well, but I would think most people in customer service would realize just how far an apology goes toward soothing situations. I guess they figured if I wasn't upset, they weren't going to push it?

Bumping ... has anyone else had an airplane lose carseats???? :earseek:

The same thing happened to us a few weeks ago when we returned to Philly. We were one of 3 families in the same situation, and were all given loaner seats. Seems that the car seats were intentionally left behind, given the fact that all other luggage made the plane (non-stop flight, too).

Like the OP, we too took it in stride, and our seat made it home the next day. I did call SW to see if I could get any kind of voucher, and was given a $50 coupon off future travel.

Other than the car seat issue, we had wonderful flights, and will be flying with them in October.

Just a reminder: on US domestic carriers, carseats can always be gate-checked. I don't ever send a carseat through the bagroom; too much chance that it will end up buried under 3 tons of luggage.
