car seats & excusions?

Our dd's will be 4 & 6 at the time of our eastern cruise. We are thinking of doing some beaches on our own. In the event we take a taxi, what do we do with car seats? Lug them to the beach or leave them on board (scary idea)?

Car seats won't work on most tropical island taxis, which often don't even have seat belts.

You'll be in different countries, most with no seat belt laws.

We are wanting to rent a car in St. Martin and we are having a hard renting car seats. (scary)
