My wife, 10 month old baby and I, will be staying at AKV for two nights prior to a cruise and then two nights after the cruise. To get to the port, I was thinking about using a town car. However, none of the companies provide a car seat in a town car due to "limited space". One company provides a car seat in a van, but it is for babies 22lbs and up. Our baby is a little girl, currently 13lbs. No way is she going to be 22lbs three months from now.

So, is our only option bringing our own car seat? I had hoped to avoid bringing our car seat/stroller combo and just bring a small umbrella stroller, but if we have to bring the car seat, so be it.

Thanks!

There are quite a few companies that provide car seats for babies of any size. However you are shopping for the wrong vehicle. Try companies that utilize the the GMC SUVs or the Ford SUVs. The SUV holds family and a lot of luggage. The town car is not the vehicle of choice for drivers in Orlando because of its capacity and the dwindling availability of that particular vehicle. Many of the old reputable drivers now drive SUVs and the rates have not changed from the town car rates.

We've used Murray Hill Transportation many times and they always have a few different car seats. I've seen the infant car seat and booster in the back of the van and a regular car seat already installed in the vehilcle when they arrived. Not sure if your little one will still be rear facing, if so you may have to reinstall the seat so it's rear facing. They've always sent a van for the same price as the town car, but I'd rather have my baby in a safe seat than a luxury car.

Their service has always been excellent, always on time and friendly.

She will still need to be in a rear facing car seat. Thanks for the info. I'll look into a different company with a different car. I wasn't real thrilled to have to pay extra for a van because of the car seat issue.
