I am just wanting to make sure I DO NOT have to bring the car seat for my 2 yo. She can just sit in her seat with the lap belt. We REALLY don't want to drag the car seat with us. We did last time and it was a pain.

A car seat is NOT required for a 2 year old on an airliner. We did it with our very petite 2.5 year old in May 2005, no problems at all.

We are leaving Mar. 4 and our 2 year old will just be sittting in the plane seat. I didn't want to lug ours around either.

your right no car seat required. My kids flew dozens of times from 6 weeks up and only used a car seat once and it was such a pain never used one again and never had any problems. We even had a few very turbulent flights and landings and never had a problem. My kids loved sitting in a big person seat with out the car seat.

We did not have a car seat for my DD2.5 when we went in September. She was fine. We brought some books, coloring books and crayons for her and her sister (DD4.5). We flew JetBlue, so they got to watch some TV as well. Just remember this. What are you doing when you get to MCO? Are you renting a car, taking a taxi, having someone pick you up, or using Magical Express? If you are renting a car, you will also be renting a car seat (very expensive). If you are in a taxi or someone picking you up, you will also need a seat. On the ME bus, you do not.

We just got back from WDW with our 3 month old son. We held him on our lap but rented a car so we needed to also rent the infant car seat. The seat was 10 dollars a day but I was very surprised that it was only a 3 point harness. We will bring our own from now on, but will check it as luggage. Just something to think about.:)

I Do not think you need a carseat for a taxi. It maybe different in each state, but as far as i know, it isn't the law. But correct me if I'm wrong.

You need a car seat in a taxi in Florida. We had to call a cab because we were running late for an ADR. When I spoke to the dispatcher, I told him we had two adults and two kids. He asked how old the kids were. When I told him, he informed me that I would have to wait a few extra minutes while he located a van with seats for the kids. They did come with two booster seats in a van.

While a car seat may not be required by law in a taxi, it certainly is highly recommended. Please consider this - the laws of physics are the same everywhere and no one can hold a baby in a car crash. The forces are too great. This site here has great tips on using taxis: http://www.thecarseatlady.com/taxis/using_taxis.html. Check the taxi videos out linked there.

Not wanting to start a debate about this...just offering some more information.
