How do you know if your seat will fit in the airplane seat and not be too wide? Considering the harness or a seat of our 2 year old.

most airlines will have seat dimensions on their websites. i haven't had a problem with any of the car seats I have brought on. we have a cheap 'for airplane use only' car seat i got at walmart for maybe $40. it is on the smaller side and light weight, but it works for the airplane.

The car seat should say it is approved for airplane use. That being said, we've used the Britax Roundabout in the plane no problem, but I don't think our Marathon would fit. We've also had to put the armrest up to fit the seat. Good luck!

I also had a Britax roundabout and had no problem with fit on a plane. Did it more than once with both of my girls. On an aide, I was glad we had the car seat on the plane. The girls were use to being strapped in while traveling in a moving vehicle and it helped having them in their seat, not climbing all over the aisles and seats.
