Car seat cover?

Any sugestions for a cover for our car seat when we check it on the plane? Thanks

We have only ever actually used ours on the plane but there are actual car seat bags that you can buy either online or in some baby stores. Or even just put it in a plastic bag and tie it off. the plastic bag won't keep it from possible getting banged up but it will keep any wet stuff or dirt and gunk from getting on it. An actual car seat bag may have some padding to better protect it but they can range in prices depending on what it offers.

We bought a Cosco Scenera as our spare car seat (don't want to move the Marathon in and out of our car) and it came in a nice zip up plastic bag. I totally forgot about it when we used it last year but only put the car seat under the ME busses and it was fine without being bagged up. But if you are going to gate check it on a plane, I would probably want to protect it more with a padded bag just to be safe.

If you do a search online there's lots of bags in all prices ranges to choose from, there's a basic red plastic bag that says GATE CHECK you can get thru Babies R Us and other retailers online or you can get as fancy as a wheeled bag for $40+. We have run thru 2 bags now for car seat travel the first one was trashed by the 2nd flight it took. The one we're using now has made it longer it hasn't been as abused, but I wouldn't ever send it bagless it's just too flithy under the plane. We have one by Sunshine Kids I think it was about $20 and has a strap to carry it by, i love it. I check our older son's car seat thru in it, since it doesn't weigh 50lbs and is free to take regardless of how many suitcases you check i strap extra things into the car seat-seat. They stay secure and I get a freebie suitcase.

Walmart has them & stroller covers (a smaller stroller)

We have an Eddie Bauer carseat bag that we bought at Target several years ago. It looks similar to this one. I think we paid about $20.

We usually stick a bag of diapers (and shoes and other odd shaped things) in the bag along with the carseat.
