Hi Guys!

I just got a quote from Dollar for a 15 day rental in October. Minivan (7 seater), 15 days: Baserate + taxes: $460

Sounds almost too good to be true to me!

What do you guys think? How much must I add to the base rate to get the actual amount I will be paying?

I have checked car rentals but not vans so I haven't a clue if this is a good price. But I checked at AAA.com & there best rate was the best I had seen by far for a car [for 8 days].

My total cost including taxes for an 11 day rental with Dollar in August is $493.00, which I found to be very reasonable. Your quote seems on target for a 15 day term.

In addition to the state tax (which is 6.5%), you will be paying an airport concession fee if they are located in the airport (9.8%), Florida Surcharge/ tire & battery fee ($2.05/day) and a license requirement fee ($0.49/day).

There are also fees for additional drivers, drivers under the age of 25, insurance fees (if you do not carry your own or they talk you into taking theirs), mileage fees, and fees for returning the gas tank less than full or a prepaid fuel option.

If this is what the total was after you made the reservation, that is what you will pay, unless you add insurance and additional drivers or if someone is under 25.

That is a good rate, my sister just booked 8/21-8/31 for $436 for a minivan at Dollar using the KISS3 code. The same type of vehicle at National using a contract code was over $700 for the same dates.
