We are first time cruisers on the Aug. 4 four day cruise. After the cruise we will be going to Disney's Vero Beach resort for three days. Are there car rental places near the port? Or are we better off just getting the the car for a week & letting it set in the DCL lot for 4 days. Still have not decided whether to fly in on Sun. am or on Saturday & get a room by the airport. I guess that would influence our options as well. Any suggestions are welcome, thanks in advance! Len

There are car rental agencies in Cocoa Beach that drop off and pick up at Port Canaveral. Go to http://www.dcltribute.com/ and click on Car Rentals for a great explanation of one-way rentals between the airport and the port.

By all means, fly in on the day before. Enjoy an afternoon and evening in Orlando or Cocoa Beach; sleep in on Sunday morning; and board the Wonder around noon Sunday without being tired or rushed. It sure beats getting up at 4:00 a.m. (or whenever) to make an early morning flight -- and being exhausted the first day of your short cruise. Best of all, you won't have to worry about missing the ship due to weather delays or cancelled flights.

Thanks Horace for your tips. I think I have it figured out. We will rent a car at the airport Saturday, drop it off in Pt Canavarel on Sunday, take the cruise, then get another car for the rest of the trip. if anyone else has a better suggestion I am open to hear them.

Avis is the closest to the port,it is at the Raddison and they will take you to the port and pick you up to rent your after-cruise car
