For anyone who has booked a car rental through U T , can you tell me if your rate has ever declined after booking?

We are renting out of JAX this May and customarily reserve a car rental through Costco. Rates are so high that we have opted to book via the tourist in an effort to keep prices somewhat within a reasonable range. The booking had to be paid in full at the time it was made, which is fine.....I'm just curious to know if anyone who has gone this route in the recent past has ever had that rate decline after booking? I'm watching it regularly and just wondering if there's even a need to do so.

I just booked a car with UT for the first time this week. From a prior post I came across, it appears you would have to cancel the old reservation and then make a new one, in order to take advantage of a better rate.

Yes, I am aware of that process.

My question was, has anyone ever had their rate actually decline after booking?

I booked a car through UCT for a trip last October. The rate I paid was the final rate. Since it's prepaid, I don't think you receive any credit if the rate goes down. It's my understanding that prepaying locks in your rate either way (meaning you don't pay more if it goes up and you don't get a refund if it goes down).

We booked through them for a trip last November. No problem and even got an upgrade. We booked a hotel and car through their latest promotion for next December and got a mini van for 8 days for $450. I was very happy with that

We used them for our January trip, booking it in October. I kept checking their rates and they didn’t drop any lower. Costco rates did drop into the same range 4-6 weeks out.

When I opened the reservation up in my Budget Fastbreak account, it did let me do online check-in. However, it would accept any CC# I entered. We ended up going to the counter (short line), and the agent there said we could’ve gone to the garage kiosk and added the CC there.

Reservations through UT are cancelable, so while the original reservation won't change, in theory you could cancel and rebook *if* the price declined.

That's great to know. Thank you!
