I am trying to find a car rental for late oct. the best rate so far is $176 for midsize, includes all taxes and fees. Can I do better? I have been checking since may and it's all the same. Could I do better as we get closer to my dates??

go to mousesavers.com and check companies with the codes listed.

Thanks- I've been checking about three times a week with mousesavers and the car rental site. I keep trying all different combo codes - oh I have also done entertainment book, orlandomagic card - You Name it - I've looked into it. I was just wondering if is it possible to get a mid size or full size for under $150 including all taxes and fees.

I find that highly unlikely, except perhaps with thrifty, ez rent or maybe L&M.

I got 259. for two weeks rental in Oct from National for a midsize. I will continue checking rates as well.

Does this rate include taxes, etc and did you use a code for this rate?

I used the old DC contract ID and the 20. off coupon from the Jan newsletter. I would love to get a bigger car for the same price, though.

I have to share my car rental price for 10/4-10/14 as well because I'm so proud of my persistence.
Through National, Emerald Club with the DC code and $20 off coupon--here's my breakdown for a full size:

1 week $131.09
3 days $65.55

Base rate: $196.64

Discount code - 39.33
DC coupon - 20.00

Subtotal $ 137.31

+ taxes, surcharges, etc.

$189.71 (for 10 days!!!)

It only took me a year to figure out this deal!

Very good rate, when did you make this reservation?

My rate for Alamo for 6 days in December is $170.00, using a Sam's club discount and $15.00 off coupon. Thats all taxes and with an additional driver included.

I check constantly to try to get a better rate, and so far, this is the best. I'm on all sorts of email sites and so far all of them are higher. Also, some of the special rates aren't available that third week of December

This is a very good rate. What size car? The best I could do with BJ's and a free day coupon was 202.00 for 6 days, full size, all taxes. I am keeping my 188.18 National for 6 days ER full size all taxes.

I have a compact for $192 ( everything included ) for eight days in Oct. through Dollar. But I am hoping to use an upgrade to get a midsize for this price.

Hi all....I booked National for september 15-27th(12 days) full size car $304.80 including taxes....used $20 entertainment coupon and the Carlson Wagonlit code....Hey Gail...How did I do?

I had a reservation with National for October 15 - 21 using various coupons, contract id's etc. for $195.99. After I read some more of these posts and tried a few other ones I got it down to $147! I'll take it!

:)
